Nahhhh not really.

It's not horrible or anything, but pretty massive step down and my personal least favorite Halo game.

It's worth playing the campaign if you have the MCC.

i really liked the interactions between chief and cortana. gameplay was solid enough, even if a lot of the guns felt samey.

didn't care about the rest of the story, but it is one of the few games that i cried at the end because of emotions

Halo 4 plays fucking great. The multiplayer was excellent. The campaign was... pretty ok, with some odd difficulty spikes here and there.

Solid 8 as an overall package imo.

Good game, but a pretty disappointing Halo game. Both campaign and multiplayer was massive letdowns compared to every Halo game before. And even the games after were better in certain regards. Halo 5 had much better multiplayer, and Halo Infinite was just better all-around.

I think my unpopular opinion about the game though is that the story didn't do a whole lot for me. I was actually much more intrigued by the story set up in Spartan Ops strangely enough. The gameplay for it was alright, but I liked the direction that I thought Halo 5's story was going to be headed in. Of course, as we all know, they utterly screwed that up.
