Personal reasons had me moving from the big city back to the country. Unfortunately I gotta get my old job back at Jack in the Box. But I don't care where I work. It's a plus and minus living in the country. For one it's hard to get Uber delivered. Not to mention the next biggest city is 45 minutes away. But that's okay. I'd rather have the peace and quiet.

I love small towns. But as someone who can't drive (poor vision) it's just too inconvenient getting to larger cities for various needs.

As long as I have fast internet, I could live in a rural area. I'd love to essentially live in the woods. I have long term plans to leave my state's largest city and move up to one of our smaller ones. There are positives and negatives to living in a major metro area, but the negatives are starting to pile up.

Where I live there are small towns separated by farmland and a few houses. 10-15 minutes in either direction takes you to another town. Like I have to go to one town for fast food and another to grocery shop.

Grew up in the city, moved to the country for 30 years, moved back to the city. I hope to move back to the country.

The country all of the neighbors helped each other out. The city we at least have one that hates us, one just know by sight, another we never see and another a friend. It's different.

Now while it was a small town it had everything you needed and some decent places to eat.

I hate small town living, and hope to move back to the city someday. I like fresh produce, but in a city closer to the coast I could trade that for fresh seafood, and still get the good produce if I spend more. All I'd really miss is being able to go for a drive. Even then, the toxic air from the agriculture industry ruins it sometimes.

There's a big difference between the country and a small town. If you're working at a Jack, then I wouldn't consider it the country. I have family in Bonanza, Oregon where the closest non-related person is like fifty miles away.

Kind of.

I've lived about three miles outside of a small town. And by small town, I mean that when I lived there, it didn't have any traffic lights. It had a tiny strip mall, a hardware store, some metal buildings for storage and three churches. Population under 1000.

But I was also only about eight miles outside of a pretty decent sized town.

I cant imagine living far away from a city. Ill admit that while I know suburbs are the root cause of a whole shitton of problems, I like the middle ground of nothing being crammed together while still being in reach of a lot of the bigger city things like a zoo, performing arts, etc. Living in an urban city might be too overwhelming, but I think Id lose it more living somewhere small town-ish.

Grew up in suburban country and to a lesser extent rural country.

The benefits are scenery, being able to toss your compost in the woods, and quieter days. Nights are a bit more complicated the average country night is noisier but it's a more ambient noise than the sudden noise a city can produce if people are arguing outside your window.

The are many drawbacks to country living. The first is no delivery (though doordash and company may have solved this for suburban country. The second no stores within walking distance, though my dad had a Mennonite store open up but that's the exception not the rule. The third is no big places for children or adults to hang out at it in most rural areas.

I like living in a small city. You don't take big cities for granted but you still have plenty of places to be able to go to even if they are basic such as bowling alleys, movie theaters and restaurants. I do enjoy visiting and driving through country a great deal but it's not where I want to live.

I love big cities. The bigger the better.

Hustle bustle, anything you want, all times of night. The awe inspiring giant skyscrapers. People everywhere.

My kinda place.
