We have the vast infinity of knowledge available in our pockets but once life is gone, you can never get it back

Some theories think that we all get reincarnated each time the universe ends and then reboots. The theory is the universe is in an endless cycle of death and rebirth, but each time it returns, the entire history of the universe plays out the exact same way, every single time. Meaning you will exist again some day. But you won't do anything different than you are right now. Amd you won't know you are repeating a life you have maybe lived trillions of times

Part of that has to do with moving the goal posts on what death is.

well not exactly that but it does suggest that universes will spontaneously create themselves endlessly, given the infinite nature of time as far as we can tell.

like eventually all the protons decay, and the black holes decay, and there is nothing but heat in the universe, no light at all no real energy.

given a bazillion gazillion more years of that, statistically, the universe will start again.

anyway id question if that would really be the case, even if the math is solid on paper

Really with how many hypotheses out there regarding cosmology/cosmogny (or however you spell the word for origins of the universe) I really don't think we're anywhere close to determining which one (if any) are true.

also it's obvious that our immortality depends on uploading your brain into a computer in some capacity.

maybe you've already done that and your life is just a simulation to train your ai consciousness to not be a total douchebag.

My theory is basically the same.

When you die your consciousness returns back to when you were born, you have no memories but you live the same cycle over and over again. So if you were born in say 1980 and died in 2040, for you, everything would reset back to 1980.

Deja vu is basically past memories that kinda bleed through the process.

A never ending cycle, a torturous existence.

Huh, sounds like that episode of Futurama with a one-way time machine. I always thought it was a crappy deus ex machina because they couldn't think of a better way to bring them back to the present.

Yeah, but he said you don't remember any of it. Which means it could be happening right now, already. So unless you consider your life currently to be torture then I don't think you can describe it that way

It's more the principle of it than anything. Just being a puppet to a force of fatalism is horrifying.

I could never find this on t'internet but I remember reading something where someone died, went to Heaven, and was told "yep, you're going back as a farmer from the 1400s".

The idea was that time is timeless and all humans share a soul.

I'm not religious but I did think this was quite an interesting take on it. Maybe someone here knows what I'm chuffing about.

That's not true. Each new universe is actually five feet lower and a couple feet to the right of the previous one.

It makes sense that we cannot bring the dead back to life.. because your body isnt one single entity. Rather; we are comprised of thousands of microbes, bacteria, and other micro-organisms.

Without the whole keeping the others in check as soon as you die it all goes out of balance and begins to biodegrade and decompose.

The only way to overcome this is to make it easier.. become one single organism. A being able to convert any matter into energy without the need for microbes.. a being able to save and restore memory in a logical matter.. a being able to replace moving parts more-easily without spraying blood everywhere and having to rewire together a mass of nerve endings and sinew.

A sentient machine.
