Also Magneto is fuckin crazy lmao. The ending was painful.

I was hoping they would go there, and they did. Also, great writing, as usual.

Man they really went for it. I cant wait for next weeks episode, but at the same time... Dread it. No more for a while after that...

It kinda felt like, at least at the beginning, that some things were left out. Almost like, did I skip an episode or something? Particularly, how did Jubilee and Roberto escape from being "arrested"?

Power went out, the inhibitor collar stopped working, so they busted themselves out.

I mean with how this series is going it can very easily be adapted better fitted. Its not like they havent done a good change adaptations a good chunk of the bigger plots. Even did Phoenix Saga right and the movies fucked that one up.

Can someone spoil me how the Onslaught story in the comics suppose to work? All my friends are mentioning that it is the most likely scenario that is going to be a cliff hanger for the next season.

But yeah the ending with Wolverine was a big "holy shit, they really went there" moment. But yeah fucking Cyclops ruining it for everyone. I'm glad they didn't make Jean useless, but that moment started giving me "Jean is useless" vibes

onslaught is one of those characters none comic fans have heard of and heard how OP he is so they are banking on that to build hype

but they are forgetting the actual story is garbage and the character is trash

I'm also thinking Apocalypse is chilling somewhere with Gambit as his Horseman of Death

Not really more so considering we never got Age of Apocalypse and that was even lost when Wolverine and the X-Men got canned.

Holy... I'm absolutely predicting some back-in-time shenanigans because man things are grim. Not only Genoshea, but now X-Men are dropping like flies, and the entirety of humanity seems doomed.

Maybe, just spitballing here, Cable had installed some countermeasure against Mr. Sinister's control that will let him fix stuff.

If not, then hats off to the writers if they make stick.

IDK the limitations of his power tbh, but Storm and whatshisface were shot out of the sky too.

Also, on the topic of Wolverine. Who on Earth thought it would be a good idea to bring him to fight Magneto. He's literally the worst possible option. And you wanted to go talk to him - Wolverine is not good at that either. Take him to fight the robots and bring Morph instead FFS.

It's been a real pleasant surprise. The only episode I disliked was the Mojo one, I always hated that character.

I am definitely looking forward to Onslaught and the possible return of Apocalypse.

Wolverine actually cutting people with his claws is jarring since the old series conditioned me to only see him slicing up robots or grazing armor.

I only know Onslaught vaguely from the Capcom fighting game, so idk how he is as a character but apparently he's otw too.

This show is fantastic!

What a cliffhanger. Can't believe we gotta wait for a long ass time for season two of this.

Anyone else think this episode felt off? Like some things just didn't line up properly after everything fit perfectly before.

Like mentioned above, Roberto and Jubilee escaping being jailed. Then Storm also just happens to arrive precisely at the exact alleyway when she's needed. Then Storm and Jean having a casual conversation in front of the Blackbird doorway while sentinels are attacking. Like, it would show sentinels following the jet, then show clear skies and unconcerned X-Men to then cut right back to them being attacked? Then sending Wolverine to Magneto... He should've been on the other team and convinced Nightcrawler to sneak him there to try and help Rogue or something. It'd help explain his sneak attack too.

It just felt like a lot of conveniences and continuity stuff was happening to position characters where they needed to be.

Not saying it's a bad episode, but after all the previous ones were handled perfectly, this one felt sloppy.

This is the only exposure I've had to Onslaught. I don't know anything about his origins or what might be coming up in the next episode.

All the prime sentinels were shut down, as were the collars, when Magneto did his thing. The Storm and Jean convo is a little nitpicky, but I can see your point with sending Wolverine.

In the comic the entire x-men team went to stop Mag since he had the Acolytes with him iirc.

I liked the What were you expecting? Black leather? Throwback to the first film.

In reality she should probably drown but it's tv, she can be fine. And he can land without dying.

But yes, bringing Wolverine was really stupid, for both those reasons. But I can see him being stupid enough to insist he go on that side and them caving.

Most range from ok to not a fan. Storm, Forge, Roberto, Cable are good. Scott is ok but I prefer hair to condom. Rogue is ok though I do prefer her jacket. Morph's better in the jacket. Jubilee needs a belt or something at least to break up that all black bodysuit. And Wolverine is fine but I prefer his other colors to brown. Jean is ok I guess. I like it more than I thought. I wasn't that big on the mask. But at least they're not calling her Marvel Girl.

Yeah, he said the other team needed more time and that's why he stopped him... But more time for what? They were on separate missions, and if Charles didn't stop Magneto then the other team is screwed too.

Like, Magneto being stopped wouldn't affect the other team at all except give them relief that the planet was saved. Unless, are we supposed to think the Prime Sentinels will reactivate if the planet shifts again? That didn't seem to be a concern. But that's the only way I can see stalling on defeating Magneto would buy the other team any time.

Edit: Oh, I remembered more stuff that felt out of place. Charles sleeps in his bed, but then the next morning he's blocked from exiting due to some rubble. How'd he get in then? Also, wasn't his hover chair crushed? He had to use a regular wheelchair to move around the mansion(thus being blocked by rubble). Then he's using his hover chair again when confronting Magneto.

Maybe I am just being nitpicky, but there was a lot of moments that took me out of the episode. Which is disappointing because all the other episodes pulled me in. I still very much enjoyed it, it just didn't feel like matched the previous episodes, imo.

I must've missed part then. I thought their only concern was about how to undo the process. I don't recall anything about them reactivating by defeating Magneto. They were shut off by a EMP like Cable did to Trask. Trask didn't reactivate when Magneto hit him with a second one. The others shouldn't either.

If anything, it'd be Bastion who could reboot them and Scott wasn't on the team to stop Bastion.

Oh well. Guess we'll see how it all plays out next week. In the end, it's just a cartoon and I shouldn't think too much about it.

Speaking of season 2. Did I read that it was already written or whatever before the dude got fired, or am I making that up in hopes it won't be TOO long for it? :(

Some YouTube videos I've seen about the show have mentioned it being written already. So it seems so. They mentioned that guy being involved with that script too.

It seemed like EMP but this episode makes it sound like he totally removed Earth's magnetic field (which, I mean, I don't know how he could permanently do that, it's something constantly being generated). And what he did was somehow keeping the tech offline. But that doesn't really make sense. Just have to go with it I guess.

S2 was already written and voices recorded. It's being worked on. Work had started on S3 when he was fired. It sounds like they want the show to come out regularly so hopefully we can get a season a year.
