And it's funny that her attorney is trying to make the argument that the student that got her pregnant was already 16 when she started having sex with him, so it's okay. But the conditions of her posting bail was that she was to have no contact with anyone under 18. So... she's fucked lol

I asked a friend once why it seems more women teachers get caught over this compared to men. His response a woman doesn't need to kiss and tell and man has to brag. And that's the day he told me he's fucked a teacher before. I've known him since he was 4. He was 33 when he told me this. Basically he kept his mouth shut cause he cared enough to not get her in trouble.

Yeah basically the only thing keeping a boy that age from talking about it is him being willing to protect the teacher. He will get nothing but positive responses from other people.

Whereas a girl will worry about being slut shamed or blamed. Even when the girl is a minor, it's depressingly common. I heard a sex worker talk about getting groomed and sexually assaulted by a police officer starting at the age of ten, and she said part of the reason she never told anyone was because of a girl a year or two older who was sexually abused and after the guy went to jail she got called a "homewrecker" and was reviled by all the other kids in her class.

What the fuck!? Why are kids calling someone a homewrecker? That poor girl was a victim and her abuser got what he deserved. We really fail victims sometimes

I think it's a mix of that and purely women don't feel the need to brag about sex they've had. I assume cause the stigma of being a slut but it's not always as extreme as what you mentioned. I've seen some women who had no scruples about their sex life it wasn't a secret but they didn't go bragging about it.

Small towns can have real values. I think the guy was really liked and respected, so many people just assumed it would never have happened unless she "seduced" him or was "asking for it" somehow, you know? Also the worst nastiness came from her peers, and you know how kids can be.

The answer is that they don't, actually. Men who get caught outnumber women who get caught dramatically.

The belief behind the apparent rise in number of women getting caught is that it's a mix of boys being less shamed to keep abuse private, and the media overreporting on women more than men, lately, since it's a bigger headline due to underreporting/not as many being caught, prior.

EDIT: Basically, women are getting caught more, now, than they were, previously, and the media is reporting more heavily on the female cases because it's "new" and "exciting," which creates the illusion they're being caught more than men, but that's not true. Men still get caught much, much more often, even if the belief is that the number of male and female abusers likely isn't all that different.

Put this pedophile underneath the jail.

Wonder if she'll get time or just the usual slap on the wrist
