And that's very noble of you but all they said was two people look alike.

I spent a whole year dealing with someone i liked. Whenever i moved on, she would get so upset and scream and cry and insult and just have a huge breakdown. I finally decided to give her a chance. We went on a date, and she was on her phone most of the time, was rude to waiters, and felt like she wasnt even there mentally.

it's not what they said, but how they said it. There was no reason to say they look like a discount version of someone. As if that person has very little value and deserves to be killed/humiliated/tortured due to being inferior. Talking as if TC is the superior one who has the right to decide which one of us deserves the right to live a respectful life.

Yes it's shame when the word 'discount' is used. TC made that comment with the intent of harm and getting people to laugh at someone's expense. Every individual, regardless of their fame or social status, possesses inherent worth. Our value as human beings isn't contingent upon our fame or visibility in the public eye. Each person has their own unique talents, experiences, and contributions that make them valuable in their own right. Society thrives on diversity. While celebrities may have a platform to reach a larger audience, regular people contribute in myriad ways to their communities and the world at large. Should not be basing a person's value because on how much they make.

there's no denying that TC made that comment with the intention of getting us to look down on the guy who looks like Tom Holland. This could have been a topic of just being happy for a guy who moved on from a woman and dating someone someone else, but it had to turn into an ugly topic of bodyshaming and ridicule. No one wants to chase. There is no us vs them. It's all just bad dating advice being shared on social media for clout. When you're making someone chase you you're triggering someone's abandonment issues and making them your co-dependent.

I will say that people can absolutely be possessive over those theyre not dating.

A girl i went to college with had a weird thing with me where shed show a LOT of interest until I showed interest back, then shed act like I was a stranger. Eventually i just started talking to someone who didnt do shit like that and she had a meltdown

I have not watched the video because the idea does sound toxic, but it did remind me of something strange that happened in my life.

When my wife and I got engaged, two women who I had dated and had made absolutely clear at the end that they wanted friendship and nothing more came and asked me to break off the engagement and be with them. One asked me to marry her instead.

I say that not to boast. I am far, FAR from a catch. Just an ugly lawyer (at the time pre-law) who doesnt even have the sense to do the legal work that actually makes money. I have just always remembered it because the whiplash was so extreme. These women had made it clear it was friendship between us from now on all the way, and as soon as the ring went on everything changed from their perspective.

Btw, all three of us are long term married to awesome folks today, so it all turned out like it was supposed to.

I think it is very natural for people, men and women and those from every background, to want what they cant have. Tale as old as time and all that.

Something similar happened to me in high school and your post reminded me of it. When I had a girlfriend, two different girls had both told me I should break up with her and date them instead. I was just confused and refused them but it turns out my girlfriend was cheating. So maybe it was their way of trying to help me. Who knows it was so long ago at this point.

To start in my opinion there is a difference between friendships where there is some level of attraction (or possible attraction) and friendzone.

Friendzone specifically is always toxic.

Either the guy has no interest in actual friendship and is just hoping that by being her friend she will he can weasel it into a relationship.

Or as this topic suggests, the girl has no interest in a friendship but just wants a human emotional support animal to follow her around like a puppy.

You are not friends with someone if you have a problem with them entering into a happy healthy relationship.
