All for alternate options. One thing that I like about fandom wikis are my work computers dont block the websites. All sites that typically have anything to do with gaming get blocked. But thats purely a random benefit unique to me.

Another top tip: don't use Fanatical. It's a website that sells discounted game keys that activate on Steam, similar to Greenmangaming. It is owned by Fandom so don't use it. Use https://gg.deals/ or isthereanydeal to look for PC games on sale, there are several different legit sites now that compete with greenmangaming so you have lots of non-Fandom options.

Anime in general.

Some of those boards dont have the individual traffic to support them. Keeping them isolated just denies the general board topics that could be discussed.

They were splintered back when GameFaqs had more traffic than they nes what to do with. So isolating the most popular subjects ensured smoother flowing communities.

These days GameFaqs is hurting for activity. So combining them all into just a general Anime & Manga board would go all long way in increasing engagement by giving users more things to talk about.

It also makes it easier for new users to join the conversation. As they dont have to go digging for the individual boards. Also having a single super board helps with SEO. Both of those things make this strategy something of an organic (non-paid) user acquisition strategy

Changes to the platform are backed by numbers. Growth analytics, profit margins, development costs, etc.

DToast doesnt have the ability to change the platform. He needs to work other people to provide the necessary feedback to implement a growth/development strategy this needs to be backed by numbers, and go up an approval ladder before any action can be taken.

This is common sense stuff. I dont understand how everyone thinks DToast had complete control to run site like hes the owner of a subreddit. Thats not now the corporate world functions.

Like it or not GameFaqs is closer to Facebook or TikTok in terms of corporate structure than it is NeoGaf, ResetEra, or any other semi-independently owned website.
