After a year, what do you think of the game?

Fantastic game that improved upon the already great BotW in almost every way, albeit with odd annoyances here and there like how the only way to control a companion is to run up to them and they sometimes run from you and how the four sage cutscenes were lazy copy and pastes.

Irregardless, for all intensive purposes, I could care less.

I thought it was a massive step down after BotW. It seemed like they didnt really understand what made BotW good in the first place.

Glob, I'm surprised. Most people seem to think it's better.

Pretty much this. Also, I couldn't sink as much time into TotK because I'd 100% BotW and I got burned out on the gameplay. Still, TotK is the one I'll jump back into one day when I want to replay that style game.

The majority might think that, but I dont think theres a particular shortage of people who dont. It doesnt seem to be universally loved.

Slop that doesn't even begin to justify its existence.

Still an amazing game that I think fell short as a result of being Breath of the Wild but more of it and with a new set of tools to experiment within the same world. If you weren't into Ultra Hand, which I really wasn't, something like 70% of the experience of exploring Hyrule is lost. And I hated Ultra Hand. I tried to use it as minimally as possible. They did address one of my biggest complaints of BotW, that being a lack of caves to explore. They added Sky Islands, caves on the mainland of hyrule, and the depths. I think that was a major over correction, though. At least with the inclusion of the depths. The depths was so repetitive I'd say once you've been in it for an hour you've experienced 90% of what's down there. Beyond that, I wasn't too fond of them splitting up certain content between the Shy Islands, Hyrule, and the Depths, with almost zero intersection. It made each area predictable. Same with caves. If you're looking to get, say, bomb flowers, you knew you had to go to a cave to get them. I was okay with region specific items like fire lizards in hot places and ice lizards in cold, but splitting things up to this extreme felt like it ruined the allure of exploration because after a certain point nothing was a mystery.

It's a great game! I loved it. Still poured 130 hours into it. It does come with its own flaws, much the same as Breath of the Wild.

It did? I must have missed it...or forgot it existed.

Maybe those JRPGs villains were on to something about humanity being trash.
