99% of the Teslas around here drive like grandmas.

im on long island. theyre doing 50+ in 30 zones, theyre weaving in and out of tight traffic, they dont use their indicators, they brake suddenly

god theyre the worst

Yeah I'd say the same. I drove across the country recently and saw tons of Teslas but I can't remember one instance of them driving crazy \ _ ( ) _ /

i literally make note of every one i spot so as to not let it be confirmation bias

yes. bmw drivers tend to be awful but it isnt literally every single one at least

i would say the absolute worst is any of those giant american pick up trucks

They accelerate fast but they take turns really slow. I think its the weight.

The type of people who drive those cars (Tesla's, Beemers, etc) are the "fuck you got mine" type of people. People who think they're more important than they are.

It's a little unexpected for me because all the car mags rave about how quick they are given their EV status but no one buys them for that.

More money than brains.

They will balk at the cost of replacement tires and suspension components. Only a matter of time until Teslas are commonplace at predatory buy here pay here lots.

St. Louis area. Maybe I don't pay attention enough, but the people who drive Teslas around here are normal. I see more Chargers, Challengers, and Mustang drivers drive like the road is their personal race track.

It's like completely the opposite here. It's all infinitys and bmws that drive like lunatics here

or bigass suvs like yukons

The type of people that drive beemers are people who can't afford to drive a beemer in my experience haha

Especially once they start having to deal with maintenance

Whenever I head into Dallas, it's always those hubcapped (with that rear temporary tire all melned out) beat-up Altimas with the headlight lashes that drive the most erratic, narrowly missing you as they weave through traffic.

In my area 75% are Uber/Lyft drivers speeding because time is money. The rest are overly cautious drivers and will drive at arbitrarily low speeds, waiting for the robot to tell them it's safe to change lanes.

My friend got one the first year they were out (2018 I think?) and the tires and suspension cost a fuckload to replace and dont seem to last very long, apparently the big heavy EV batteries make everything wear out a lot faster

Where I live its the people who drive half ton/three quarter ton trucks who are the worst. I swear they think they are in sports cars. Truck culture is awful here.

idk if theyre all like that, just seem to hear more about Teslas because theyre still the most common EVs on the road. They also cut a lot of corners during the manufacturing process so maybe other brands are using better quality shit when they build theirs

It's impressive how quick a Telsa has gone from looking high end to looking like a bargan car. At least to me. A lot of the branding lost its shine after Elon showed us how off the deep end he is.

Also the build quality and attention to detail of Tesla cars appear to be extremely sub-par, even more so given the cost they have.

Opposite problem with me. I drive in LA and Tesla drivers tend to drive slower than the average cars around here.

They've realised they spent thousands on a car with the interior of a budget Econobox and the build quality of a preschool playgroup project.

I'd want out quickly too.

It's ok, realising you wasted your money on a poor product can be traumatising, we understand.

The one time I drove an electric car I found myself driving like a shitbag, I think it's the lack of engine noise, and instant torque so you don't really realize how fast you're actually moving.

I honestly havent noticed that about Tesla drivers. Its SUVs and pickup trucks for me.

Hard to say because I live in California where everyone drives like an idiot, and 50% of them are Teslas anyway.

Part time Arizona resident here. The shittiest drivers tend to be ricers with aftermarket exhausts that blow down North Scottsdale Road like theyre in a NASCAR race. Usually Honda Civics and Subaru BRZs.

When Im at home in B.C. the shittiest drivers tend to be Land Rovers. Theyll stick their nose up your ass and then violently swerve around you without using their turn signals. Annoying as hell.

That's not build quality. Entertainment system is easily replaced, poorly fitted interior made of cheap materials isn't such an easy fix.

The infotainment system on any modern era car is near impossible to replace.

You really gonna void all warranty and service support from your cars company to write your own software on a suite of custom tablets from scratch? Never mind the dash overhaul due to the collection of weird aspect ratio screens that only exist in your model car.

I can and have changed the dash material, car seats, and most other interior components easily.
