Because the games are actually worth the price tag unlike most shit released.

If you buy an AC game (Origins/Odyssey/Valhalla) you'll get a couple years of content rather than 1 playthrough and then a quick uninstall.

What I dont get is why asmongold is even popular.

Rise of the Ronin is still bestselling on Japanese Amazon after being out for two months?

On the one hand, that's cool and impressive.

On the other hand, I'd say it probably means there's a lull in games in Japan at the moment and the data isn't as positive towards ACS as you were hoping.

That said I really have no idea why anyone would think Japan as a large would not be into this game. I saw someone saying it was being criticized because the sitting way, underlay and rank of people was wrong.

My dude, do you think the average Japanese gamer knows or cares when tatami mats were first introduced?

I've seen this sentiment several times over the years where it's assumed Japanese people are fully aware and invested in every little detail of their history and cultural aspects, as if the Japanese are some magical spiritual people unlike westerners who by and large know extremely little of such details of their own history.

It's simple. Those people claiming Japan hates the new AC aren't very bright. They'd point to the dislikes on specifically the Japanese trailer, but then you look at the comments and it's nothing but English-speaking people.

Almost all the Hate for the new assassins creed is from the same reactionaries who scream "WOKE" at everything they don't like, Only to reverse course if it gets big and have to bend themselves into pretzels on how its instead ANTI-Woke, They did it for the Mario Movie, For the Barbie Movie, Baldurs gate 3

Hell they also tried to go after FF7 rebirth but found little traction with that(though now they came out with the BS Safe Horny idiocy knocking it for that instead) and now they are going after TTYD remake

Unfortunately the idiots who watch those Youtube channels are die hard with who they support(Until they step out of line) so people pivot and appeal to them to try and get some of that rancid bitter Bigot view counts

The same team made Odyssey which most fans tend to praise and was nominated for GOTY. It's been several years rather than an annual release which was another common complaint before. It's the setting most requested since like 2008.

Basically, if there was any Assassin's Creed that could pull off a GOTY in a typical year, it's this one.
