No matter how good or bad the polls are for Biden, the only important thing to worry about is the voting results. Therefore, go out and vote blue while motivating those you know to do the same.

Surprised Kennedy is that high. I thought everyone thought he was a loon. Not even sure what his platform is.

His handling of Israel and Gaza is really weighing down what good will he had made the last couple years

The things that are worrying me at the moment is the possibility of all the conservatives who say they don't want to vote for Trump publicly just falling in line and voting for Trump any way when the general election happens. Nikki Haley, predictably, just said she will vote for Trump.

To be fair, though, there are prominent Republicans like Liz Cheney and Brad Raffensperger who have seemingly closed the door to the possibility of voting for Trump. We'll just have to see what the final numbers end up being.

A lot of the politicians will fall in line just because the republican party is so hostile right now but I think Trump has disenfranchised a lot more people since he originally ran then Biden has with Gaza. I think most left leaning people will vote for Biden whether they like him or not because the alternate is Trump, but republican voters are more up in the air.

I've said it before; I don't care about the general election numbers. If we were a normal country maybe. But electoral voting makes me want to see the few Swing States, and those are still in TCTC territory or favoring Trump

Third party candidates are always massively over-represented in polls.

If the only important thing is the election itself, then why post the polls at all?

I've been wondering this more and more myself since the 2016 election. I was one of those people who were wowed by the accuracy of FiveThirtyEight and threw out any sort of critical thinking and just formed my idea of what was going to happen based on what they said. Then Trump won.

Then Democrats started over-performing polls in 2018, 2020, and 2022... I'm hoping that trend continues, but I'm not putting much stock into what a poll says any more.

Question, for the electoral colleges that are designed. Why are these people not at the fore front on how they select the winner? They make the final call and not the voter right.

In most states, the electoral college votes for the candidate that won the popular vote in their respective states. There are a few states that split that based on having different popular vote winners in different regions of the state, though.

In 2020, for example, most of the voters voted for Biden, so Biden got all 16 of Georgia's electoral college votes. I think Nebraska and Maine are two states that have different regions, so if one of those states has 5 electoral college votes, there may be a 3/2 split or whatever it actually works out to be.

There is also such a thing as faithless electors, where one or more members of the electoral college will vote for a certain candidate even though they lost the state's popular vote. There's not much of a chance of that happening, though.

That's still too close. Hopefully a lot of potential Biden voters didn't participate because they're mad at him.

Odd how the board isn't insulting TC for posting a poll from a credible outlet.

Anyway nationals don't matter. Hillary was 2 points over Trump in 2016's final results.

Maybe it's because most people here know I don't have much faith in polls even if they rate Biden well?
