But frequently boundary pushing means that that you aren't actually that good. You are limited by technology. You are limited by not being able to learn from previous attempts. You have good ideas that you weren't able to be implemented properly. You have bad ideas that nobody knew were bad yet. The original Metroid aged horribly. It's not horrid, but there are some really dull parts (getting out of a giant pit by shooting blocks that will reappear as you ascend).
