TLJ is fine, better than the prequels on average.

Rise of Skywalker is dogshit

I really enjoyed The Last Jedi.

The Rise of Skywalker literally killed most of my interest in Star Wars because of how soulless it was. I feel like even with the hate for TLJ, if Episode 9 had just continued from where TLJ had left off, the whole sequel trilogy would be way higher regarded.

Just, everything about about Ep 9 is about as bad as Star Wars could get.

Watching TLJ right now. Special effects seem OK, but the one thing I always hated about this movie is Leia being able to fucking fly out of nowhere.

Kylo and Reys water fight looked cool other than that It's the worst thing every.

What I disliked about TFA was that Rey's a Mary Sue, Kylo's a shitty Vader ripoff (and the whole "that was the point!" defense was stupid af, because purposefully being shitty isn't an excuse for being shitty. Why rehash old villains, anyway? Why not come up with new, original ones instead? Kylo's lightsaber looked really stupid, too), Snoke is a shitty Palpatine ripoff, Finn's a token character who's little more than comic relief (but he's better than Jar Jar at the very least) and the whole plot is a New Hope rehash with all of the returning characters being useless except Leia as part of some stupid SJW agenda. The acting wasn't very good, either, and some scenes were just badly delivered.

I watched TLJ last night, it was the first time I had seen it entirely since it released in the theater. I found it worse than I remembered. I don't think I could stomach RoS again.

It's funny how divided the fanbase got over TLJ, but then pretty much united over ROS being crap.

I dislike how Luke is a bitter old loser with no desire to help out. Disliked reading about it and seeing it for myself confirms that it was stupid.

But just by looking at his performance in the movie, I can see that Mark Hamil didn't really want to be here lol. His acting feels so forced; I can tell that this isn't how he wanted Luke to be written at all.

The Canto Bite subplot was lame but not as bad as I thought it would be

I dislike Rey and Kylo's dynamic. It's so cliche, rehashing Vader and Luke but with a romantic subtext tacked in.

Snoke feels really wasted; he didn't get much screentime in this or TFA and now he just gets killed.

It really felt like they were just making up shit that the Force could do whenever the plot called for it. Suddenly Leia can fly. Suddenly spirits like Yoda can cause natural disasters. Suddenly Kylo and Rey can project images of themselves to each other to communicate. Suddenly Luke can project an illusion of himself to fight. Textbook lazy writing.

Oh and the planet Luke was on just happened on to have the old Jedi texts.

Still, I don't think it was much worse than TFA.

If it hadn't been for bullshit space magic and plot convenient cave animals, Rose would have allowed the First Order to slaughter everyone in the name of "love" for a guy she barely knows

She should have been, at the VERY least, booted from the rebellion and sent home disgraced.

Good points, but I disliked the idea of Finn dying after we already saw him almost die in Awakens. I will say, though, that they should have never even teased it and Rose was an unnecessary character all-around. But this still isn't as bad as Jar Jar and the Anakin/Padme romance.

I don't see how you can rate Rise as anything less than a 2/10 on your scale, but we'll see.

From what I read of Rise, I think bringing back Palpatine was a smart move as far as moneymaking decisions go, and him being Rey being his granddaughter was a fitting way of giving significance to her existence. Makes no sense for the protagonist of this trilogy to be a nobody; Star Wars isn't a story about nobodies.

RoS is so bad. In fact the ST is just terrible. They had no plan, the entire trilogy feels like two divorced parents fighting over their kids.

It feels off that the "DJ" character received no comeuppance for betraying Finn and Rose. He just sells them out, takes the money and dips, never to be seen again. What the fuck is that? If you're gonna write someone to be slime, you either have them see the error in their ways and become a better person or punish them for being a shitty person.
