He is one of the few online personalities/channels I have ever followed and actually know who they are. His content amused me because I'm a little more than 4 years older than him but his content covered stuff I played growing up.

It amused me because he pointed out certain things specifically in games I played that I remember being cheap and annoying me and it cracked me up that he highlighted that those things that were universal experiences for many of us who grew up with that stuff.

Sure I think the "nerd" character has run its course and actually I prefer the part of his videos where he is just talking as James and giving background information on the game or his insight on his thoughts about the game. I enjoy that much more than the over the top skits and fake rage induced rants even though sure in the past when they were fresh I had a few chuckles.

All in all I will still tune into his videos though at this point it seems to be just more of a way to continue to bring in some revenue rather than him flat out enjoying it. I still get some smiles.

I never liked him and his videos. The whole excessive cursing, absolute rage and potty humor always came off a cringe, low hanging fruit entertainment for the likes of 12 year olds. Which, I suppose given the time, was a pretty large market. Obviously so since the bit absolutely flourished back then.

Always confused me that my friends still today rewatch the old videos and laugh their asses off. I don't find it funny or entertaining. What are they getting out of it I'm not?

I mean as far as angry reviews of video games go, it just captures the annoyance/frustration when we were doing good on games and lost, sometimes either playing poorly and/or games having fake difficulty.

Kind of laughing at ourselves when we get worked up over game woes.
