At this point, you could probably play it on a potato of a computer.

Just going off the one that has the price listed, $480 ought to be more than enough to handle NV.

I could play New Vegas on a pre-built desktop from Walmart that I got in 2010 (the same year it came out).

It obviously wasn't maxed out or nothing.

Now, if you want to max it out with high end mods, that's a whole different story <_<

Can you hook it up to a monitor / knob and mouse?

Thanks. Whats the support like for games? Is it only steam games you can play in it? I imagine so but just to be 100% sure. Also can you run other apps like office / web browsers etc? Or is it only games. Finally (sorry!) hows it play with games that arent designed for steam deck? I like a lot of indie games and notice not all of them seem to be officially supported. Im guessing long as you have KB and M youre good to go?

It can run emulators as far as I know.

Some people use the Deck as an emulator machine, but you can play a bunch of PC games on there. There are ways to add mods in as well, but I haven't really tangoed with that stuff personally. You can go to games' Steam pages and see how their performance is rated (and when you access the store from a Deck, it automatically goes to the Deck-verified subset).

I went through New Vegas recently on the Deck, though, and it didn't have too many problems -- at least, problems it didn't already have, like crashes and unstable DLC. You can look into the fan patches and stuff for that.

Thank you x

BTW any plans to do more topics chronicling you playing games? I really enjoyed them.

Hmm, haven't gotten too many new games recently, so I haven't bothered doing topics. Could probably do one for a game I haven't put much time into, like Baldur's Gate 3 or Rimworld, or maybe some old PS4 holdover (like Star Ocean: I&F which has been sitting unloved next to my console for years). Maybe if I'd done one for Dragon's Dogma 1, I wouldn't have lost interest as soon as a pair of basilisks victimized me in some soul pit, haha.
