going to get the new mario and luigi, dragon quest 3, new mario party, new zelda, and metroid prime 4

Investigations Duology. The official names will take some time getting used to.

I vaguely remember a Link's Awakening Remake graphics based Zelda that was not the Oracles remake and a whole bunch more of irrelevance.

For a moment Nintendo had me with the prospect of a new Megaman Game, then I thought it was a sequel to Dread, but no, just FPS Metroid.

Edit: is it just me, or were there some obvious NOT-Pikmin and NOT-Animal Crossing games?

World Championships seem cool, but unless its cheap, its not worth it.

So hell froze over and Nintendo gave us a great direct.

They could give me just metroid and zelda every direct and I'll be happy

I usually enjoy their directs Which is good to me since I usually dont do video game news much

I was in the middle of watching an AA Investigations 2 playthrough on Youtube but I guess I don't have to do that anymore

Also hyped for the new Mario & Luigi, Zelda, and Metroid Prime games

I wouldn't, but that would be because that would mean that they were churning out a new Zelda and Metroid every few months, which in turn would mean that they'd be vastly inferior to games that they spend a few years working on.

Looks like it, though LttP's sequel space is getting a little crowded.

it's weird that, for once, sony had an absolutely abysmal showing this year, while xbox and nintendo both had excellent ones

Timeline-wise, it goes LttP-->Oracles-->LA-->LBW-->Triforce Heroes. By what was shown, I'm inclined to guess that this game falls between LttP and the Oracles, possibly an alternate timeline where Link's fight against Ganon in LttP ended with him being sucked into some kind of shadow realm and failing to fully defeat Ganon.

M&L, DK Returns, and a new Zelda are must-haves for me. MIO looks good too; will wait for reviews/more info.

NES championships looks fun but I wouldnt pay a lot of money for it

Well they remastered prime 1. You should just play that one because it's the best. Well, 2 is really close. 3... it's solid but you can skip it honestly

Yeah, playing Prime 1 will give you enough of a taste for the trilogy. The other two are still well worth playing, but in the absence of the full trilogy being re-released, just playing 1's remaster should be enough to tell you whether or not 4 is up your alley.

The biggest announcement could be a new 2D Zelda with a fall release. It would make sense to have a big name game with a small development time release as a final send off for the Switch.

echoing others, it's likely pushed way back to be for the next console to give it the best chance. even nintendos last several titles have struggled hard on the switch when before they've been pretty solid, and something like prime 4 is probably just too much unless it's really dumbed down

besides, they would need launch titles, and i don't see a new new zelda anytime soon

They showed all they needed to show really. It didn't have to be some tailored presentation although that would've been cool too. I kinda like that they didn't go overboard showing off every area of the game. I like some surprises

I'm not knocking the content of the trailer, just the presentation
