I mean, I don't know how long it would take for Earth to end up a dead world like Mars due to having no magnetic field to block the solar wind, but I presume it would inevitably happen.

Edit: I looked at this. https://www.livescience.com/earth-magnetic-field.html

No magnetic fields mean no molten outer core. Things would get colder. Also, even with no magnetic fields, the atmosphere would still exist (as is the case on Venus), but not for long in the case of Earth (Venus is also losing atmosphere, but at a slow(er) rate due to being composed of heavier gases. Also, this quote is illuminating...

And if there were a way to give the moon an Earth-like atmosphere, the solar wind would whittle it to nothing in a mere century, Archer said.
No atmosphere definitely means human extinction unless we become a multi planet species or something. Before extinction though...

But what would happen if Earth's magnetic field disappeared tomorrow? A larger number of charged solar particles would bombard the planet, putting power grids and satellites on the fritz and increasing human exposure to higher levels of cancer-causing ultraviolet radiation. In other words, a missing magnetic field would have consequences that would be problematic but not necessarily apocalyptic, at least in the short term.

So things are worse in the short-term but catastrophic in the long-term.

So "no" is the correct answer to TC's question unless you want humanity to go extinct within the span of a century or some other insane idealogy.

Everything would be wiped out pretty fast as the atmosphere was lost, so no.

Did you know lunar dust is sharp? There's nothing there to really sand it down. It would cut you the fuck up and give you fiberglass lung.

$50,000,000,000 but it becomes a pile of useless paper because civilization collapses at the next solar event?

The weakening of the magnetic field is bad enough as is.
