No, it really wouldnt. Defo some hyper hyperobole from that dude. I walk more than 22k a day just from work, then I'll do another 6 mile run later in the day sometimes. people really underestimate their ability to move. But as for the topic. There's something wrong, missing, not known for this guy to be telling the truth. Could be a medical issue, but unlikely. Dude is just lying, or dad is sneaking foods, doesn't understand serving sizes, ect. Otherwise this dad might be worth a lot of money for research purpose because he defies the laws of thermodynamics. And starvation mode is not a thing. Stop it. Or not a thing to be concerned with when it comes to dieting, however 1,000 calories restriction on a 340lb person in addition to walking steps 20,000+ is totally way too extreme for no reason. --- https://m.twitch.tv/sorozone/profile ... How are they metabolic? Do you know what metabolic means? The act of growing / synthesizing protein requires metabolism. ToteAll posted... How is it "disconnected"? How do you think tumors grow? Everything requires metabolism... that doesn't mean it's a metabolic disease. By your definition, the term "metabolic disease" would be pointless. You should know that weight gain due to overconsumption of calories is not because of cell division like a 130 pound tumor is. Yes, they are different scenarios, very good, I literally said that already. No you didn't lol. It's like pulling teeth with you. And you're still going on about thermodynamics as if you were seriously asking about physics equations. Don't play dumb. Yes, I was, because it's the same thing. A tumor won't make you defy thermodynamics either. The person in the article "wasn't gaining weight despite a caloric deficit". Ok you're almost there. Step by step, let's keep going here. Assume the following scenario. Person has a BMR of 1500 calories. They eat 2000 calories and do absolutely nothing else. They have a 500 calorie surplus. Some of those calories are stored as fat and the person gains weight. Second scenario, same person, same diet, but now they burn 600 calories through exercise. They now have a 100 calorie deficit. The body metabolizes fat and muscle to meet this deficit, resulting in weight loss. Third scenario, it's the same as the first but now instead of doing nothing he burns 600 calories growing an absolutely massive tumor in his body. Because more energy is spent synthesizing than metabolizing, despite the caloric deficit, he gains weight. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go violate the laws of thermodynamics by drinking a glass of water thus instantly gaining weight despite consuming zero calories. --- It says right here in Matthew 16:4 "Jesus doth not need a giant Mecha." https://i.imgur.com/dQgC4kv.jpg ... Wait, you're actually serious. You're literally, actually serious about this. Wow. It is a disease that is metabolic =P you got nothing on me. ToteAll posted... You literally think tumors grow magically despite caloric deficits? How, exactly, again from a thermodynamics point of view, does that happen? What happens to the other tissues in a person's body when they are growing tumors? What is one of the biggest red flags for cancer? There's nothing magic about it I already said. As for what happens to other tissues that really depends on where the tumor is. Red flags too. Can be anything from nose bleed to hard lumps. And even the same type of cancer won't have the same red flags in different people so I don't really know where you're going with this. If after what you eat, no additional fat is created, you have a caloric deficit plain and simple. If you have a caloric deficit because you spent it all growing tumors, well that sucks but you still gained weight while on a caloric deficit. You just didn't gain weight in fat. --- It says right here in Matthew 16:4 "Jesus doth not need a giant Mecha." https://i.imgur.com/dQgC4kv.jpg ... Copied to Clipboard!

Man must have the craziest genetics. He can somehow simultaneously have shit metabolism to where he can't lose weight at a massive caloric deficit, but still somehow have metabolism so efficient that he can perform physical tasks that require significant energy consumption well above the level of calories he is consuming. He is a coal plant and fusion reactor at the same time! Or, more likely, one or more of the elements of the story are wrong. ... Copied to Clipboard!

This is not the same thing, and you know it. You called a neoplasm specifically a "metabolic disorder", which has a specific meaning. It's a disease which inherently uses the body's own metabolism as a vector to spread. It counts. ToteAll posted...
Depends on the person in question. But yes. This is not a disease though. It's just a part of life. If the adolescent in question doesn't have the excess calories to make up for the energy needed in this growth they are malnourished. ToteAll posted... Of course you don't, because you don't know what you're talking about, at all. This very clearly isn't your field. Weight loss is more common, sure, but you can also gain weight. Or just experience no weight change at all. ToteAll posted... Where, in the article you posted, does it even mention caloric deficits, and overall weight? At all? Well it doesn't say anything about his normal diet or overall weight I'll give you that. However he would have carried around this massive weight regardless of what he ate. He did full on stop eating at one point and wound up getting liver problems because of it but it didn't shrink the tumor any. --- It says right here in Matthew 16:4 "Jesus doth not need a giant Mecha." https://i.imgur.com/dQgC4kv.jpg ...
