Black Flag was really good (and by extension Rogue, it was essentially the same game but with more varied story missions). My absolute favorite might just be 2 though. Haven't played anything past Unity though, but I plan to someday.

My favorites are 2, Unity, Origins, and Valhalla. I find Black Flag to be way overrated.

Either Syndicate or Origins
They're the two historical era represented that I find the most interesting. I definitely prefer the gameplay style of Origins to Syndicate, but it's let down slightly by the map being a little bit too big (although it's nothing on Odyssey's map, which was fucking ridiculous, I dropped out of that one and it's been on my "I'll finish it eventually" list for years, haha) --- http://i.imgur.com/6eF0W.gif ... Mirage is mid.
My favs are probably either Origins or Odyssey. I loved Valhalla too, but I didn't care for the way the story missions were styled. But the amount of actual content in Valhalla is unmatched by any other AC game. I really enjoyed Black Flag, but I hated the main line story missions. It got so bad I dreaded having to play them. Just sailing the seas was fun as absolute fuck, but man those story missions were legitimate trash. I kind of wish the newer games had sea battles like that. Odyssey had some okay ship management, but it wasn't really on par. Sadly Valhalla didn't have any boat battles, that would have been fun. There's even precedent for Viking boat battles. But I guess creating an entire system based on one epic battle wasn't worth it for them. --- lolAmerica ... Copied to Clipboard!

AC2. I loved the first one, 2 completely overshadowed the first game, Brotherhood was really good, and I never played any more after that.
