It was like April or May of 2021 when I began playing DOOM 2016 on Nightmare. Didn't take me long to finish 2016, but Eternal has been a challenge!

I got stuck in The Blood Swamps of TAG1. You know, THE checkpoint where you have like 4 Barons -- one of them being possessed.

I actually had to go back and play the main campaign again, relearn how to play the game by forcing myself to use mechanics I had neglected before, in order to be good enough to complete the TAG1 DLC.

That was months ago. Now it's time for me to give TAG2 a go! Supposedly this DLC is much easier.... And I can believe it, because I almost got through it on Nightmare when it launched (I had played all other content on Ultra-Violence).

Ready to get this fucking hammer so the rest of the game can be easy mode. I've done plenty of the hard work up till now.

My last playthrough, I never really learned how to consistently utilize the hammer in my combat loop. Once I learn, I won't be bashful about it.

The hell... This hammer is NOT easy mode. I can't get past this first room with it.

Immora. Holy shit, 3 years and here we are (although technically the final boss counts as his own level).

Damn, that opening cutscenes of the mission. When DOOM tries to be Marvel: Endgame lol

Nothing to do but fight the final boss now.

Well, I've actually been reflecting on all the things I've been through since I started this run 3 years ago. I'll share some of the less personal ones.

-Got serious and consistent with the gym and nutrition
-Quit drinking alcohol completely
-Went through all stages of grief over a girl and finally came to acceptance that she will never see me for who I am (okay maybe that one was personal)
-Learned guitar and piano.... Enough to switch chords fluidly at least
-Got a promotion at work
-Got rewarded and praised in front of all my co-workers for how well I'm doing with that promotion
-saved up my emergency fund and paid off all my debt. Now I'm about to start investing for retirement
-Been getting lots of attention from women now, but still no girlfriend yet
-Recently quit smoking weed unless I'm on vacation
