If any of you remember Haguile, I met up with him recently. He's been doing good, and we've stayed in contact these years, he just fell out of message board stuff. At one point we were talking about Final Fantasy, which led to Final Fantasy Tactics Advance, which led to:

Haguile: Sometimes I think I have fond memories of FFTA, but then I have to remind myself that it's just fond memories of that one comic where Marche is walking around his brother like an asshole. That was way better than the actual characterization.
Me: You mean the comic I made?
Haguile: What?
Me: The comic I made. It was for a Save My contest, everyone was pushing Marche because of-
Haguile: YOU MADE THAT COMIC?

He's loved that comic, specifically that comic, for years...and never knew I made it, even though we've been talking this entire time. New core memory unlocked for both of us.

It was part of a larger movement. Cheating was discovered partway through that year's Save My FF Character Contest. People declared the contest invalid, but didn't want to stop it, so we supported Marche as a protest vote.

Lots of propaganda was made. This comic was just one cog in a glorious machine of revolution.

He's really is great. No way he has time for anything related to message boards or even most online stuff these days (his schedule is insanely packed), but he remembers B8 with fond nostalgia. I'll pass on you guys' well-wishes to him.

Yeah, Haguile was a good dude. I think I associate him with getting me interested in Umineko more than anyone else on the board.

Not sure he'd take that as a compliment these days though...!

We've had numerous Umineko talks. Our feelings on it these days are...complicated. As it is for many people, hah. Still lots of fond memories attached to that zeitgeist though.

Did he make that murder mystery game he was working on

I wanted him to add secret passages that led to dead ends

Haguile is one of the B8ers I miss the most! Say hi for me! I loved his twisted brain and the umineko-style mysteries he ran for us. I still remember correctly figuring out that someone got murdered by way of inflatable rafts suffocating the victim

Did he ever end up publishing his own mystery novel?

This topic greatly pleases me because I liked that guy and am quite happy to hear he's doing well.

That is how my character died, and I could be wrong, but you might have actually got me killed, even if you weren't responsible. Someone tried killing my character while sleeping through suffocation through inflatables, but I RNG'D/dice rolled/skill checked/whatever to get myself out of my room but I passed out. Unfortunately, someone saw my unconscious body outside of my door and thought they were doing the right thing and put me back into my deathtrap of a room without looking inside (it might have been pitch black), unknowingly sending me to my death. I thought that was you who put me back.

I assume everyone who stops posting here just disappears into the void so good to hear he's doing well

He prefers to keep his personal stuff mostly private, but I will say that he's been involved in several successful creative endeavors.

As much as I want to press what kind of creative endeavors (I would consume media he created) I get the want for privacy. Glad to hear theyve been successful

Man those games were amazing. I didn't even participate, just read the topics and loved them.

I so wish I had actually been able to run the one I planned out/started.

I've definitely seen that comic before and I think I actually remember Haguile from lurking.

Somehow I dont remember Haguile at all.
