It's hard for me to say, because it does help a lot it also is totally wrong in other cases. Especially with names.

I'll say I'm not a fan overall because when I try to write youtube or nintendo for example, it will autocorrect to YouTube or Nintendo which is annoying. It adds some convenience but I'd rather just use the spellcheck myself

I prefer predicative text over auto correct. As with predicative text I can choose what I want to say.

It can be irritating sometimes when it corrects something that doesn't need correcting or fails to catch a correction that is needed, particularly given how annoying it is to move the cursor around on a phone to manually make the correction, but much more often than that it catches typos from me fat fingering the wrong keys, so I'd say it's a net positive.

On a phone, at least. There are a handful of autocorrections I appreciate on a computer (like mroe-->more and msot-->most, among similar examples), but on a computer my accuracy is much higher and it's much easier to make manual corrections, so I'm generally better off with plain old spellcheck than trying to deal with an autocorrect that thinks I'm trying to write something I'm not. Fortunately, computer autocorrect tends to either be much less intrusive or entirely absent.

Turning AutoCorrect off is almost always the first thing I do when I have a new phone.

I don't like it myself, but I tend to be a bit confused if someone consistently says it's terrible and yet still has it on. I haven't encountered any devices yet where you can't turn it off if you want.

iPhone auto correct is fucking horrible. You can't even turn it off properly.

It's totally fine on Android though. I've never seen it take a perfectly fine word and swap it automatically to something else. Instead it has a top bar above the keyboard with suggestions.

Honestly, no. It often doesn't fix my sloppy typing at all and when I'm actually unsure about spelling (usually for Korean) it gives incorrect suggestions/substitutions. Maybe if I were not as good at spelling but better at typing cleanly it would be more helpful.

It sometimes corrects words that are actual legit words spelled right into other words.

Twice yesterday day or autocorrectes outside to outsized. Which word is more commonly used? Also trying to fix it back to outside on one of those I made a typo and THAT time ir corrected it to outside.

I used to accuse it of bi erasure.

Being bi I say bi a lot. Used to autocorrect to "no" I get why the n is next to b and o next to I, but it was like it was saying no to bi.
