Not to make it a race to the bottom or anything. Obviously a lot of women have a lot of trouble. And sadly, I hardly seem to know any women who haven't had some kind of disordered eating at some point in their life. So maybe more women have body issues by volume of people.

Putting that aside, it's wild how many men are literally injecting themselves with garage-made steroids every day...for what? To look more jacked?

I find it really hard to even understand. I'm scared enough of needles that just getting vaccinated is something I need to psych myself up for. I can't imagine putting a needle in my skin every day just to have bigger arms.

My ex had pretty serious anorexia and I remember completely flipping out when I discovered she was using medical grade laxatives on the regular. That seems less serious than this.

kind of weird to say that men have more serious body issues than women, and then say "well probably by volume women have more issues" to then discount how absolutely fucking deadly and damaging EDs can be and the extreme harm using hardcore laxatives regularly can do to you.

I disagree. Men can always make more money to become attractive. Women have intense pressure to worry about their looks even after they are successful.

I don't want to get into a argument about who has it worse, tbh. Really all I want to bring up is how little it seems steroids are talked about, relative to the extreme harm they do and how ubiquitous they are.

Like "bigorexia" is almost treated as a joke issue.

tbf, women literally put foreign agents in their butt cheeks, that are painful to them, and can sometimes kill them; especially if they look for cheaper alternatives (Brazilian Butt Lifts).

same with their breasts and lips.

there are even surgeries to make their genitals look better, but I guess men would do the same, if given the option.

Men also typically age much better, I think most guys look way better at 50 than women do in general. Shit, many of the hottest girls in your high school will have trouble comparing to those days a mere 20 years later.

The only thing that has gotten better for women is fat acceptance, but still to this day women are valued for their looks partially. Hot women have a lot of advantages and many women want to be considered hot. Male attractiveness is also not the main thing a man provides, hot men sure have a leg up but being successful educated and fitting the mold of a Father is typically far more attractive to females in general especially as people age.

You can also look at plastic surgery use by the population and females are far more likely to use those services than males. If males were worried as much about their bodies and how they look those numbers should be equal. Women are nearly 8 times more likely to use the services of plastic surgery than males are in general.

Eating disorders can cause osteoporosis in women and permanent damage to the heart if the sufferer doesn't consume sufficient protein.
Oh, and remember Terri Shaivo? She was bulimic, and her heart stopped due to magnesium-potassium deficiency after she drank a lot of laxative tea. As a result, her brain was deprived of oxygen and half of it literally died.

So yeah, eating disorders do extreme harm.
BTW, some male bodybuilders also suffer from eating disorders.

I guess I'm going to have to keep saying this (and it's my own fault for making a clickbaity topic title), but of course women have real issues, of course anorexia can be incredibly harmful, of course these are real things that deserve attention.

I'm just saying, steroids are becoming a really big fucking deal

i dunno man.. I have no doubt a lot of men have body issues, but I think girls/women get more pressure from the media and most cultures to look pretty.

Steroid use isn't common. It's pretty rare for the total male population. For average male gym lifters? i think its also fairly rare/uncommon. If we're talking about bodybuilding, and sports, then I can say a lot more common, especially competition stuff.

The knife surgeries, especially with women, are far more common. Botox, lip fillers, nose jobs, breast enhancement, booty lifts, etc.

in terms of scare:

Blood draw for tests is worse, followed by tetanus shot then regular covid shot.

there isn't a happy place, the fucker hurt. i wanted out of there.
then again i'm kinda glad they caught the problem before it turned into type 2 diabetes (i still got a small chance to reverse it).

if i can just lose 20-30 pounds or more. (maybe make the percents go down).
