Comes out tonight at 9 PM EST/6 PM PST.

Tons to wrap up in the last episode.

I've enjoyed most of the show and the mysteries so far, so I hope it's a good end.

Kinda hoping for a Yoda appearance, hed be alive at this point and they might as well use Frank Oz while hes still kicking.

But I dont want it to just be a shoehorned cameo, Im sure theres something meaningful he can do.

Definitely cant wait for the new episode, this show has been very enjoyable.

It's their second most popular show, so there's a decent chance of a follow-up. Leslye Headland says she has ideas for more stories in the time period.

Pretty sure that is not true. It had lower viewership than Ahsoka, which was lower than Mandalorian. Not sure about Obi-Wan.

I know Andor did not do as well :(

From Wikipedia:

Disney announced that the series had 4.8 million views in its first day of release and 11.1 million views across its first five days, marking the streaming service's biggest series premiere of 2024 so far. The five-day viewership was below that of the previous Star Wars series, Ahsoka, which had 14 million views across its first five days.

Now I can't speak beyond the first five days but considering the very mixed reaction, especially compared to Mando and even Ahsoka, I doubt it improved.

Yeah, I don't take any numbers from Disney (or any other streamer) at face value. They have reasons to manipulate that data.

We have Nielsen data for the first two weeks.
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/d/d7ae9d80.jpg
https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/5/5c6c1b68.jpg

Nielsen's historical data is a bitch to find so it will take a minute to pull other Star Wars shows.

https://x.com/TVGrimReaper/status/1707508883479285834?s=19

It had a comparable first week to Ahsoka but it's second week had a drop compared to Ahsoka staying flat. What's interesting is Ahsoka actually started to climb in week 3 and continued to do so until the series ended. Hopefully Acolyte pulls something similar.

Surprised we actually got a Plagueis sighting. I figured he'd be a character that everybody always brings up but then he never shows up in anything.

Yeah I'm also surprised we got Plagueis.

Anyway, I hereby deem it a great show. Not my favorite, but it feels just uncomfortable enough in it's message to keep the tension going to a second season. Vernestra lied right to the Senate, Osha and Qimir have their uncertain future, and Mae kinda hangs around I guess.

Definitely was him.

Kinda surprised. The show pretty much stuck the landing and I was expecting to be more disappointed in it despite not hating it as much as others. I also see they're making the "bleeding" kyber crystal thing officially canon which is also a bit of a surprise.

It was still somewhat clunky overall but when it finally got to the good shit it was great. The last episode also showed a bit of what the overall show was missing. Jedi getting their shit pushed in by the Senate lol. I loved the Senator calling them out. And while I felt Sol was a weird creepy asshole lusting after kids to fulfill his dream of being a dad or whatever, they sure did him dirty in the end just so the Jedi could cover up their nonsense. Funny how everyone expected the "big bad thing" the Jedi did to be what happened on Brendok but it really turned out to be what happened mostly at the end of the show with the double coverup.

I hate it, but I think it was already canon through Ahsoka's new sabers.

I'm also not happy with the implication the Jedi are right to bury their emotions by having the whole situation be caused by Sol caring too much.

Ah I haven't seen too much on the Ahsoka front. Plus apparently it happens in one of the new Jedi games (Jedi Survivor?) but I haven't played those. I just know it from some of the recent comics.

I feel that the implication isn't really that. It's more in the middle. The show definitely went out of its way to show that while Osha eventually "did the deed" by embracing her anger, she seems to be somewhat more of a "healthy" person because of it. All the stuff with her, Mae and Qimir near the end seemed pretty positive to the point of having them seem like the "heroes" despite being evil.

Plus if this ends up pushing the Jedi more toward bottling their feelings and so on, that's what eventually leads them to becoming total assholes and getting worked in the Prequel Trilogy. It's a balance and both light side and dark side kinda fuck it up. Of course Lucas says the dark side is just bad and needs to be eradicated for balance so who knows? Seems like it works best when someone goes "screw all this nonsense" and just becomes a space wizard with a cool sword.

So Yoda knows about all this shit, yet in The Phantom Menace he's just as clueless as the rest of the council when the prospect of a potential sith is brought up even though Smilo Ren walked out alive with an apprentice. I know The Phantom Menace is a horrible, horrible movie, but some basic continuity would be nice.

Oh, and imagine blaming everything on Sol like that and not the stupid witch cult that accidentally started the fire causing the entire show to essentially happen in the first place. And imagine drinking the Sith kool aid even easier than Anakin's dumb ass.

It's worth pointing out that Vern actually has very little information about the situation after Sol and his team left on the mission.

All she basically knows is a lot of Jedi died by lightsaber, Mae has some Jedi training and killed two Jedi, Osha is gone, Sol is dead and a Jedi thought dead is actually alive and involved somehow. Anything else is conjecture and force readings. She has no idea there are Sith involved. She doesn't even know who killed who. Like she did lie to the senate because she knows that Sol didn't kill the first two Jedi, but beyond that she clearly had Sol as a suspect for the other killings. Her believing that Sol killed nearly everyone else isn't an unreasonable conclusion for her to draw.

I must have been distracted or something, when did Plagueis show up?

Edit: I found the scene. That's dope, I can't believe I missed that the first time. Overall I liked it and hope it gets another season. Even though Sol made some really bad choices, I really liked him as a character. All of the light saber fights were great too, especially the possessed Kelnacca fight. A Wookiee Jedi bearing down on you would be downright terrifying.

one thing i liked about this show showed is how we saw mae didn't bottle up her anger so she at least had some control over her emotion and was willing not to kill sol and let justice system be the judge of him and her as well for her crimes while osha was raised in the jedi way and had to bottle up her emotion and once she found out the truth her dam broke showing why the jedi code is flawed

Feigning ignorance. Later, Windu suggests going before the Senate and informing them that their ability to use the Force was diminished. Yoda countermands him saying that if they did, their problems would multiply. Compartmentalizing information and even outright lying seems to be the order of the day at the Temple.

I have little interest in a season 2 of this tbh. I didn't hate it, but I just don't see the point of it. We started the season with a twin who's memories might be faulty and the other being an apprentice to a Sith and we ended with a twin who's memories are faulty and the other being an apprentice to a Sith.

This was a show with great ideas, but some really bad filmmaking. The flashback episodes were the worst, but the entire thing struggles with inconsistencies, unclear character motivations, cheap set design ($180 million, seriously?), and leaving too much setup for a season 2 that may never happen.

Honestly surprised anyone thinks it is great, unless you are only focused on the story in broad strokes (the moral ambiguity is nice), and some admittedly cool fight scenes.
