I mean, there are lots of things like that. If someone donates money to a cause, most people won't care or will praise it if it is a good cause, but if a neo-nazi donates money, anyone with a brain in their head will say you have to return it. Who people are matters, actions don't just exist in a vacuum.

There were no innocent victims there. It was Republican on Republican violence, and the social media account of the guy they were trying to turn into a martyr unsurprisingly called for violence against his political opponents. Its like if a brawl occurred within some big white supremacist motor cycle gang and a bunch of them died. Like, what is a normal person supposed to say about that, except that white supremacist motor cycle gangs have a dangerous culture.

The shoe might as well say "Please beat my ass" on them.

Completely wrong. If anyone else did this, they'd be meet with tons of backlash. It's completely tasteless. Trump's base will eat this up though and praise him for it while everyone else condemns him. So he's actually getting less hate than normal.
