i'm trying to think of what the internet was like when crash came out
it was just the AOL disks, huh. we were all on AOL. the internet didn't even 'properly exist' in everyday life. crazy.

Crash 1 didn't have time trials in the original version. As far as the original trilogy goes, they were exclusive to Crash 3 until the remakes.

Eh, not really? The time trials are optional extra content; you can get 100% without them (except in Crash 3, which also had them, and required them for 100%, on PS1). Crash 2 and 3, as far as the normal content goes, are about the same between PS1 and the remakes. Crash 1 is easier in some ways and harder in others; for example, you no longer need to complete levels without dying to get the gems (except for the colored gems), but also, you now need to get the boxes in the bonus rounds too (though dying in a bonus doesn't invalidate a colored gem run), and the hitboxes make it extremely hard to walk on the ropes in the bridge levels. I'd say overall it's a little bit easier, even if there are a few harder factors.

I also feel like the Crash 3 time trials were easier on the remakes (other than the platinum for Hog Ride) tbh, although it's possible I'm just better now. I was barely able to get all golds (and maybe the occasional platinum) on PS1, yet managed every platinum on the remakes and the only ones I really struggled with were the aforementioned Hog Ride, and Stormy Ascent (which is a Crash 1 DLC level that wasn't officially in the PS1 version - and the struggle there wasn't the time, it was just actually completing the level in a single run).

The Internet, including the web, definitely existed, at least in civilized areas of the country. I think I still had a 56kb/s modem back then, but I may have already switched to a cable modem.

i had that happen a few weeks ago. went through the stages of grief when i found out my test results on blood lab.

things changed for me when i accepted it and realized i still have a chance in fixing the problem (at least some of em).
