The main thing I use Twitter for these days is to get updates from court reporters and journalists surrounding cases related to January 6th, Trump's criminal convictions and civil cases, and other related criminal and civil trials in that atmosphere.

At some point recently, I started getting a number of things popping up on my timeline that are videos people getting killed in one way or another. I'd rather not watch stuff like that. Especially when it just pops up unexpectedly.

those journalists all have BluSky accounts, you already know how to fix this problem

Twitter > Settings and Privacy > Privacy and Safety > Content you See > Interests.
The system is broken and adds things there constantly, even if you don't actively search out tweets about those topics. Unchecking kind of helps, but it's not perfect

I might have to invest some time into rebuilding my follow list on there to see how comparable it is.

Its so fucking bad. I use it for a particular twitter spaces that I like but its like wall to wall racism and nazis.

But particularly right now it's non stop trans hate because a non trans woman won a boxing match.

There's tools to transfer those, though you have to doublecheck.

... You know... I'm surprised I haven't dug through the settings to find this, but thanks. I'm going through and removing stuff

Oh, I didn't know that either. I'll look in that. Maybe this weekend if I think about it.
