I'm not contractually obligated to answer.

We are short staffed and my contract is part time over a variable roster. Given the nature of the business, some days I might be the only person they could ask.

But I figure that's their problem, it's not my responsibility to manage their roster.

I'm the type of person that will happily work 7 days in a row...if I'm mentally prepared for it. Nothing worse to me than rushing off to work on a day off.

Opposite really. Maturity is establishing reasonable boundaries for the sake of your sanity. If they want you to be available 24/7, they can appropriately compensate you for such a responsibility.

My hours are fixed, so I set my work phone to only be "available" within work hours. Although several of the people I work with work outside my hours, nothing requires me to work on my personal time, there are other people who are able to assist.
