The boat featured in the movie is named the Murnau, which is the last name of the person who directed the 1922 silent film, Nosferatu.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nosferatu

The boat's named something different in the comics, but I'm forgetting it at the moment.

Just a little tidbit I thought I'd share. I really wish Morbius was better received. It really is a fun film.

This was the review a friend of mine sent to me and another friend after he watched it:

"Even with the forewarning to approach the movie in the right spirit, it still failed miserably for me. Its not worth us watching as even a bad movie.

The only scene that was entertainingly bad was of Matt Smith, alone in his apartment, about to go out for the night striking poses for a solid minute for no apparent reason. I bet you could find that scene on YouTube. But the rest of the movie was just plain boring. The only good thing I can say is that it was only 1 hour 40 minutes even then I kept waiting for this movie to end.

You would think thered at least be some entertaining action scenes to move it along, but they were either in super-slow motion, making the effects to look like they came from the 90s, or super fast speed. As one reviewer I found on imdb put it, the actions scenes were gibberish.

So now I just have to make sure to get this movie back to CO-WORKER. I took it to work on Tuesday to leave in his box, but it fell off the car seat onto the floorboard and I overlooked bringing it in with me. Id hate to lose it and actually have to spend money to replace it!"

I genuinely don't get the overwhelming dislike for the film.

You're always going to get the Marvel Studios die-hards that are just going to hate anything Sony does regardless, but as someone who is actually a fan of the character, I thought it was a good adaption.

Obviously there's some issues with the overuse of cgi and like Venom, some scenes I think could have been better with a more mature rating, but I think Leto did a great job as Morbius, and it's probably his best acting performance since Dallas Buyers Club.

Co stars Adria Arjona and Matt Smith were really good too. Martine was badass and Milo chewing the scenery brought some fun levity. I liked Jared Harris as Dr. Emil and didn't hate Tyrese's performance.

Story is well done and nicely paced. Runtime was perfect. The inclusion of Spider-Man would have ruined it. Morbius' origin has nothing to do with the wall crawler.

The effects were good too. I liked the bat sonar visuals when they weren't being overused. Since Leto is playing Morbius I get why they didn't make him more grotesque all the time but when he "morbs" that's actually pretty cool. Say what you want about the SSU, but Sony can do some impressive character designs.

Overall it's just a fun movie.

The film was bad because it was boring. As I said when it first came out, the movie was just devoid of entertainment. I actually thought everyone did a good job with the material they had, other than Matt Smith who was terrible, but the film just had nothing to grab the audience. The action scenes sucked. The villain sucked. The only good SFX scene was in the fucking trailer on the ship. They needed more of that and a far better story and villain. I barely even remember why Tyrese was in the movie.

They seem to be at least doing the right thing with Kraven. Giving him a villain people may know or at least cool enough to watch on screen. The problem with Madam Webb was the villain was a spider-man clone. And while cool, who even knows his name or what his deal even was. Same for Morbius, was Matt Smith even a real Marvel character? Because that shit was F list at best if so. They would have been better off just having him face off with a real Spider-Man villain. Throw in Shocker or some shit, idk.

I think you're right. Hell, even the Halle Berry Catwoman (which I also liked) is getting some love right now.
