Just imagine. You buy one charger and it works for everything. Your samsung? Works. Your friend with an iphone? Works. Laptop, beard trimmer, headphones? Works. All that shit uses the same shit.

And your battery is dying. Oh no, what a shame. That's ok, you can just replace it. Nobody fucking glued that shit to the motherboard.

We'd probably have less environmental problems and ecology death going on if we just had electronics designed to work and be maintained...

First thing: Maybe. There are only a handful of standards you see much of today, and I'm not convinced the advantages of a little competition don't outweigh those of universality.

Second thing: Do modern laptops not have removable battery? Remember and me why people buy these things again?

I used to be on your team but after getting a (good) pair of wireless headphones, you're basically swapping the persistent and pervasive issue of having a dangling cord flapping around with the "once a fortnight for 20 minutes" problem of charging your headphones.

Capitalism very much prefers planned obsolescence over making things that last. The faster your stuff falls apart so they can sell you new stuff the better it is for corporate profits.

I definitely agree on products being user serviceable.

Every once in a while, I hear about in ad a nuclear decay batteries for consumer use. Imagine phones and electronics that never have to be charged.

They use to be used in pacemakers but they stopped being used in the early 80s because the new lithium batteries proved safer.

Yeah I know. No way they couldnt make them safe. Now I gotta get surgery every 10 years, not to mention charge my devices everyday, and put gas in my car.
