Heroes 3 is still the best!

I guess this means Heroes isn't completely dead now. Other than that, the only thing the trailer really says is "yes, it's Heroes of Might and Magic"

I'm a little dismayed that two of my favorite towns are considered OP, but it's probably the same reason why I love them.

I don't know what to take from that trailer, but cool I guess. I was a huge Heroes of Might and Magic fan though around V I fell off. I actually played VI several years ago and actually kinda liked it way more than I expected. It was annoying though how you only could play it through Ubisoft connect..I wouldn't mind trying VI again if I knew I could play it for sure without issues. I never tried VII though. It just seemed kinda bland and the opening cutscene was pathetically cheap looking. The lines were voiced but all the people talking were just frozen in place. It certainly was a strange design decision.

Only one of these I ever played was the GBC one back in the day and I remember enjoying it a lot. Maybe I'll give this one a go.

Obviously three was great and two was good and well one was cute and novel(and extremely frustrating, damn cheating ai) for it's time. Also though very primitive.

Just figured I'd be the weirdo to give six some praise. It played somewhat like a modern Heroes 2.

I hope y'all enjoy it but I'm never buying another Ubishit game ever again.

2 was my favorite but 3 is the best tbh. If you've not tried the fan made content Horn Of The Abyss you definitely should

Songs of Conquest is on sale and is pretty much just HoMM. You might look into that one.

clash of heroes was the only game that interested me in the series and i wish it got a sequel

I think I saw some gameplay of Songs of Conquest as it was really going for that inspiration.

I don't expect anything out of this tbf but I preferred Heroes VI over Warcraft and Magic V. At least VI felt like a Heroes game again. VI launched with severe unplayable issues I heard and yea ubisoft connect but I feel like blackhole (the developers who went bankrupt not long after the game reached a finished state) had a better idea of what Heroes was.

Oh boy should I bring up the Forge from Heroes III? The cancelled faction due to fan backlash back then! A bunch of ppl sent very many angry e-mails so the sci-tech/horror faction was completely scrapped for a generic elemental faction.

I would have thought the Forge'd be awesome back then and it was tying into Might and Magic too. Hell 3 had demons!

Unicorn Overlord is more similar to Ogre Battle. Though maybe you could like a game in the series. III is the best by mostly everyone (Three is really great).

I played Heroes I. Eight years ago again myb and I knew exactly what I was getting into with the campaign and I still couldn't beat it as a warlock. I think it is literally impossible without straight cheats as another faction.

Heroes 1 is a magical bullshit game, I do like how cartoons the first two games look. Blah! I vanna suck your blood. The vampires kick ass in 2.

This is not even close to Unicorn Overlord. This is going to be more like King's Bounty or Elven Legacy.

I dunno if you played those games either. Imagine Total War but more granular.

Maybe? They aren't that similar in a lot of ways, and it's mostly just the genre that is the same. Try fheroes2 and see what you think of something that is, presumably, similar to this one.

King's Bounty? There are a whole SLEW of them! I played a couple they are quirky fun but this was also the time when I got really discouraged quickly. They actually play very much like the original King's Bounty. I think King's Bounty wasn't trademarked or something so another company just pumped a bunch out. They aren't shovelware.

I played the original King's Bounty on PC b/c it came on the disc of a old Heroes of Might and Magic compendium. I love the audio using the internal soundboard, fucking didn't even need a soundcard your pc can just do some beeps and bips and a small tune. Anyhow. I know by now there are ways to quickly figure it out and I am still a bit pissed at Homm1 campaign. King's Bounty was the precursor to HOMM1. Time limit and just be smart.

I heard King's Bounty II was terrible lol (finally they go for two). But that was a weird open worlder game when they have been putting out titles as above. Also GOG for some indie credit :P still. I think that was the same company. They just decided they wanted to sabotage their own niche.

It's hard to get excited about this when the last few games have been garbage. V was the last decent one and III will never be beat.

Pour one out for Heroes of Might and Magic IV. Completely different from III, Heroes level and fight in battles very narrative based. Ah hell. I think the second video here will be Heroes IV and Tawni Belfour. A daughter from Ed Belfour. *looks at media guide* This thing was never wrong before. Ed Belfour had a daughter and she was a pirate!!!!! So now what, one of the original writers. Hmm ok.

Highlights of Tawni Balfour. The original campaigns were super good and well written. The expansions ones are basically garbage b/c 3D0. That time is so hard to figure out. I know what happened but it is still wild. Trip Hawkins was involved in this series somehow right?

I do like Heroes IV and think it was treated too poorly. The way it's different from 3 is enjoyable to me. But it does feel very unfinished and the top down battle display doesn't really allow for good creature design.

The creatures in IV never looked quite right plus eventually you could over level your hero to just obliterate everything, but if you still took your time and explored things it'll still be a little bit of a mess. OH YEA!!!!

Heroes of Might and Magic III; Armageddon's Blade/Shadows of Death got so annoying. Because I looked this shit up. In the campaigns there are pre-determined optimal paths to not get too far behind. Because if you aren't aggressive enough or take optimal paths, you're done. I like hotspot maps but occasionally I do want their stories by the company. And you literally have to do spot to spot move to beat some of these even on normal! Giving me flashbacks how HoMM1 just cheats to your death lawl.

Heroes VI I thought was doing this too but it just gave up when I foiled their plans so that was neat. These older games won't give up :P
