Regarding the sales you mentioned, games present on both platforms are often cheaper on PC, and although in the past there was a higher up front cost for a PC, with consoles increasing in price, you can as others have alluded to make a PC of similar spec to a console at this point, which nullifies even the up front price advantage. 2. Regarding exclusives, Microsoft puts their exclusives on PC already and Sony eventually puts most of their exclusives now on PC as well. That just leaves Nintendo with lots of exclusives not on PC. If you buy the games though, you can legally emulate them on PC, so there is that. 3. And of course, there is infinite backward compatibility on a PC. Want to play an older game like say Fear?
