I think the first one came out on PC and people did a nude mod of the main character.

He's modelled after some big Japanese model and the talent agency didn't appreciate it in the slightest.

I believe the talent agency was really the one to put an end to it all. At least we got 2 really good games....thanks modders haha

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the recent Like A Dragon games were repurposed from what the next Judgement would have been.

Judgement was meant to be their brawler franchise when they moved Yakuza/LaD to turn based.

We don't know, the rumors of it being dead have been happening since the first one, since there was disagreement with Sega wanting to release it on PC and the talent agency saying no.

Then Lost Judgment came out.

Then people said it was really really dead, this time, since, again, big disagreement over PC.

Then the games got released on PC.

Now people are saying it's really really really dead, for super realsies, because ???

Since then, three mainline Yakuza games have released, so we really have no idea if Judgment is dead or if they just were working on those first.

It had fully nude (implied post coital) characters on screen but they were always carefully positioned or framed not to show naughty bits. I think you get a butt at one point but that's all.

Unless I missed a setting somewhere that turned them off at some point.

Because a lot of Japanese developers were extremely behind the times when it came to mods or fan-managed content and thought that the mods essentially were something Yoshi-P "allowed" the community to do using in-game tools. There was also a lot of framing online that the mods were "visible to all" rather than user side.

most Japanese suits are VERY Anti-mod(honestly modding kinda up for debate if its even legal in japan with it leaning more towards not being legal) The fact that Yoshi-P has the policy that he does is a miracle itself

but i will be honest i imagine he knows this is not going to going to stop lewd mods, He is probably just trying to ask people to show some restraint with... CERTAIN character models from the prologue considering what has happened with some mods in 14

I still remember the story about Street Fighter X Tekken having on-disc DLC. When the US branch of Capcom held a meeting and told them if they released it with that people would just mod it for the DLC, Capcom Japan's suits just literally said "Why would they mod the game? That's illegal!"

Reminded me one time when Yoshida was talking about how mods are not allowed in FFXIV but then went on like a 15 minute tangent about how cool mods are and how he understands, mostly talking about Counter-Strike and how neat it was lol.

Yoshida knows how modders are, he's been in the online space longer than most of us have been alive.

Thought it would be like mods modding messages and was expecting him to ask for more leniency on "anti-woke" tirades.
