Things that can't be compared to other flavors. Things that when someone says "what does this taste like?" and you can't give an earnest definition.

For me:
Durian: Had it in the last year. Nothing compares. It's outrageous.
Capers: Despite probably being 10 years ago, it still remains one of the most unique, uncomparable flavors I've experienced in adulthood.

I was trying out flavoured licorice; the peach/apricot licorice was absolute trash, however the pink lemonade really worked well

I mean, not saying it's the first time I had pink lemonade, it's just having it in licorice form was very nice

Have you ever had true salted European licorice? it is something. I love licorice...and I like salt. But the amount of salt is...almost too much. But I can't get enough of Scandinavia.

I wasn't really sure what to make of it. It was definitely aggressively salty, to the point of having the salt equivalent of an afterburn. I did like it, once I got used to it, but I wasn't really sure how to eat it because it went so far beyond what a typical salty snack would (like potato chips or popcorn) and because I typically think of licorice as a standalone sweet snack. I think it might have benefited from being paired with something else, but I'm not sure what.

I've had durian a few times. It tastes like onion, garlic, and gasoline, but occasionally you get a very sweet flavour similar to peach. Smells identical to a dumpster full of garbage on a hot summer day.
