An actual team up, imo, is when you have at least 4-5 characters unrelated to each other teaming up. Just as long as it feels like an Avengers movie I'm happy. While there is a Suicide Squaddish feel to the trailer (though when I try to clarify, my mind goes back to the licensed music for Thor Ragnarok's too), it's not at all like Suicide-Squad-apes-Guardians-of-the-Galaxy. And the lightning and setpieces also feel kind of DCEU more than Marvel, with the desert chase making me think Black Adam and Wonder Woman 1984 before any Marvel property. When I first saw Bucky, I wasn't expecting him nearly as much as he was showcased and that has a nice old guard feel to things, and adds to a contrast I'm feeling where I suddenly feel the absence of Falcon, Bishop, and Kamala and their bright colors and this group feels so separate and yet its own. I don't know too much about Echo and Taskmaster, and they (and Ghost) weren't seen nearly as much as Yelena, Red Guardian, John Walker, and Bucky, but I'm... digging it. And Yelena as the put upon anchor giving massive Ron Swanson energy is great. Edit: And I totally forgot Bob was Sentry until I checked the replies. "Hydra Bob? In this movie instead of Deadpool? I still think they could have salvaged Kang by recasting Chukwudi Iwuji into the role. You had two or three people that weren't in the title character's series. An actual team up, imo, is when you have at least 4-5 characters unrelated to each other teaming up. Just as long as it feels like an Avengers movie I'm happy. Civil War felt like a big team up movie too as they had almost everyone in that. Thunderbolts looks like a sequel to Black Widow and the Falcon/Winter Soldier show, with the Ant-Man 2 villain thrown in.
