Just to let everyone know. They have been on 'coming soon' status for a few months, but now all three of them are FINALLY available for purchase and fully playable in their original form. Also, RE1 has been released in uncut form, as in actually uncut, as in we get to see stuff like Also also, in RE2 Hunk and Tofu mode are available right from the start. --- Choco: why are americans so weird omniryu: To make a long story short, self esteem issue. ... It's super cool that they did this. I know they had to do quite a bit of work on these to get them to run properly on modern PCs. My only complaint is since Jill is a main character in the 1st and 3rd games they should have called this the Jill Sandwich Bundle. --- Harris/Walz 2024! ... Copied to Clipboard!

That's pretty rad. OG 2 is absolutely a must play, it's every bit as good as the remake. I don't really recommend that anyone play the original version of 1, but it's still good to have it. --- ~snip (V)_(;,;)_(V) snip~ I'm just one man! Whoa! Turbam posted... That's pretty rad. There's some charm to the original since the corny dialogue is fun and the live action cutscenes have a low budget horror movie feel (especially since this version has the uncensored cutscenes). But yeah everything else the original RE1 does the remake does better. --- Harris/Walz 2024! ... Copied to Clipboard!

RE 1 definitely gets cheesy nostalgia points, though I have to admit I sincerely enjoy the gameplay (even if RE 2 & 3 improved on literally everything). I especially like that ammo is pretty scarce, prompting you to avoid a fight by either running past an enemy or taking another route. Also, one reason I started with RE 1 specifically is because you have the opportunity to familiarize yourself with the controls at the start, whereas in RE 2 & 3, you only have a few seconds to get adjusted before a group of zombies try to gangbang you. --- Choco: why are americans so weird omniryu: To make a long story short, self esteem issue. ... I've been playing this again recently, after many, many years. I must admit I love every moment of it (except how 2 starts off by throwing wave after wave after wave of zombies at you). One thing I'm especially happy about is that apparently I got over my digital arachnophobia. As a kid I was so ridiculously terrified of those giant spiders that I actually looked up online where they all are, just so I could avoid as many of them as possible (fun fact: in RE1, the boss spider is the only one that's actually unavoidable, and it's not even that tough). --- One time, CE triggered me so hard with their objectively wrong opinions that I accidentally punched myself in the balls. ... I loved watching my older brother play 1 and 2 when they came out but as an adult trying to play them I just can't figure it out and always end up dying. Aressar posted... One thing I'm especially happy about is that apparently I got over my digital arachnophobia. Heh, yeah I also got kinda spooked sometimes if I'd turn the corner and suddenly BAM, you see a huge massive close-up of a spider that just happens to be close to the camera. This also reminds me of how it annoyed me (still kinda does) how Capcom had this habit of making the F9 key the exit-button in their PC games. Not Esc, not Enter, not even F12, but freaking F9 out of all keys. I always felt that was a really fucking sadistic thing to do in case of Resident Evil games, especially since they don't mention that anywhere. You just had to figure it out. --- Choco: why are americans so weird omniryu: To make a long story short, self esteem issue. ... Copied to Clipboard!

This was probably around in the original release as well, but this is literally the first time I noticed that among the many background signs in RE2 & 3, there are also a bunch of signs that say 'Burger Kong' and 'Racco Bell'. Also, despite RE3 already has tons of replay value, I kinda wish there was a Normal mode. Hard mode really does feel like hard mode as you barely have any ammo (making you really dependent on those fixed locations that may or may not spawn some herbs or gun powder) and Nemesis will basically curb stomp you for the first few encounters, but Easy mode provides you with so many weapons and bullets right from the start that you could basically finish the entire game with that. Some middle ground would've been nice I guess. --- Choco: why are americans so weird omniryu: To make a long story short, self esteem issue. ... Copied to Clipboard!

Some middle ground would've been nice I guess. Personally I think it's better to skip those Nemesis fights whenever possible, at least as long as you haven't got firepower/ammo to waste. Those items he drops on Hard Mode aren't worth it all that much. By the time you get those customized weapons, you'll either have found better regular weapons, or you'll have found enough gun powder to make enhanced ammo or even grenades. --- One time, CE triggered me so hard with their objectively wrong opinions that I accidentally punched myself in the balls. ...
