My grandma's buying a car that I'll generally be the one driving her around in. It's a nice car but I have no idea what to do with a test drive.

It goes when I push the gas... It's got seats... It turns...

Like, it's a car, it did indeed do the car things expected of it. I didn't know what to say to the sales guy.

It's to see if you like how it feels when you ride, and if you're comfortable sitting it in and are good with the blind spots.

Those test drives are mostly for you finding problems dealers will try to pretend isn't their fault if you didn't catch it at the time of driving it. Like it drifting slightly to the left or right.

Honestly I never cared about test driving. Last truck I bought the sales guy like insisted I take it for a test drive. So I did and when it was over I was just like "yeah it's fine" I kind of totally agree with you. What else are you really going to say? Like I know what to expect from a vehicle.

I also did one previously where some young college kid said it was part of his job and he got like bonuses out of doing test drives so I agreed and since I knew I wasn't going to be buying that particular truck but I was going to be buying the same model at a different dealership I floored it a few times to really see how well it would get up and go so decided to beat on it a bit during the test drive.

Took it off road a bit too down a dirt road and spun the tires pretty good. The kid didn't mind and like I said i knew I wasn't buying that truck so fuck it. I wanted to see what it was capable of.

I suppose looking for obvious problems makes sense but the way he asked me about it seemed more about how impressed I was with the car's driving. I just told him I don't really know cars but it seemed to drive well. It's a new new car so I assume it's all fine and dandy.

Ive never taken a test drive before.

Try backing up to see what the visibility is like in reverse. If you are ambitious, maybe try parallel parking. Maybe try braking hard.

Its about making sure youre comfortable with it. Every car is different. My car is in the shop right now and Ive been driving my grandmothers car and its awful for me. Im way too tall for it and the seat doesnt go back far enough. The steering wheel is basically in my crotch >_>

We rented a car and it was terrible it was way to low to the ground, it was hard to see out of. I kept hitting my head getting in, and out, the dash board and interior was horribly designed, it was very uncomfortable. If we had blind bought such a car we would be stuck with it. Thankfully it was just a rental.

You test drive to see if you want to be stuck with it instead of just hoping it isnt designed by idiots, and being stuck with it.
