To be fair, Brett Baier is definitely more of a "news guy" than a lot of other Fox personalities. He's always fallen more on the Chris Wallace and Shepard Smith end of the range, especially now that both of them are elsewhere.

As Pete Buttigieg said about him appearing on Fox News, his appearances aren't just for the person who is watching Fox News. It's also for the other people in the room, who may not be 100% all in Republican. It's so he can spread his views and talk about the bad things republicans do - to the other people in the room. Maybe the person who put on Fox News isn't going to be swayed when talking head asks Pete about crime rates, when he directly says dark red Mississippi has the highest per capita rate in the country - but maybe their spouse or children can be.

And I know this isn't going to matter at all, but republicans still go on about how she's hiding and they don't know enough about her policy proposals. They are either going to keep at it or stop and never mention i again or reflect on how they were wrong. So this feels hollow, yes, but it completely destroys that narrative by going directly into the lion's den.

Its just going to lead to another news cycle of her dodging questions though. And theres zero upsides in return.

From what I've seen, right-wingers now trust Fox News even less, thinking they'll edit the whole interview. However, I do think the interview is still worthwhile if only to reach as much voters as possible.

Bret Baier is probably the friendly person at Fox to interview Kamala so nothing wrong with her agreeing to this interview. Plus it'll further contrast her to the orange piece of shit who is dodging unfriendly interviews and debates.

I literally saw a topic here where CNN was complaining she was "hiding from the media" then went to work a day or two later when were they have fox news on the TV and saw them complaining that she was "blitzing the media with interviews"

IIRC Baier was one of the few Fox people that admitted that Kamala beat him in the debate, so if she was to be interviewed by someone from there, hes probably one of the better (or rather least shitty) ones.

Lyin Kamala Harris has wisely chosen Bret Baier, of FoxNews, to do a much needed interview, because he is considered to be Fair & Balanced, though often very soft to those on the cocktail circuit Left. How much time does Ian Sams, Senior Advisor to Lyin Kamala Harris, spend on FoxNews? Hes now on Cavuto, Foxs Lowest Rated Show, by far, and spent much of the weekend hitting TRUMP, totally unopposed, before two real beauties, Eric Shawn and Arthel Neville Not exactly the next Walter Cronkite of the Broadcasting World! Sams is just a below average guy, with memorized FAKE NEWS soundbites, almost all of which are WRONG, but coupled with all of the other Harris Radical Left Democrat mouthpieces that Fox puts on (Richard Fowler, Patrick Murphy, something Wolf, Jessica Tarloff?), it has a very negative effect on the Election. Think of it, I spend an hour with the wonderful Maria Bartiromo, do a beautiful job, and then am followed up all day long by one-sided, negative Democrats, including Ian Sams, who virtually owns the Network. Its not worthwhile doing Interviews on Fox, because it all just averages out into NOTHING. FoxNews has totally lost its way!

Yes he is. Only one with a spine is Jessica Tarlof. And she is only employed by Fox so they can point to their token liberal.

Love this move. More candidates should go on unfriendly networks and spread their message. She's not gonna convert Fox News viewers but she might reach some of them.

It also shows confidence and strength. My only concern is that I hope to god she doesn't try to pander to their audience and sticks to her beliefs.

I heard one of my progressive pundits talk about how much it'll piss Trump off that Faux would even have her on when they're supposed to be exclusively dedicated to sucking him off.

But also, this is likely the only exposure many Faux News viewers will ever get of actually seeing Harris speak without some intentional manipulation and context left out. A big reason Faux News viewers are the way they are is because the network intentionally doesn't tell them things, I doubt this will be a sterling interview, however it provides an opportunity their viewers wouldn't normally get to see a counter narrative to Trump.

Pretty much sums it up. Kamala did what Walz and various Democratic senate candidates I've seen do, ignore trap questions by either going on the offensive against the opponent or taking that chance to confer to viewers what their plans are if elected.

I think Harris' goals were:
1) Ensure that her policy proposals to help the common citizen are broadcast, no matter the questions asked
2) Point out that Trump killed the border bill if immigration reform is brought up (guaranteed on Fox)
3) Deliver potentially some new information to low-information / indoctrinated Fox viewers, especially on Trump to help depress their turnout
4) Avoid talking about herself personally and instead focus on what she plans to do (avoid giving them any soundbites to play out of context)

Something along those lines. Baier came prepared for some gotchas expecting the border bill killing to be brought up by bringing up some stuff that occurred before that, but Kamala just ignored them and pressed on attacking Trump for his blatant partisanship.

Overall, Fox failed to generate any useful soundbites while Kamala probably informed a few people about some things Trump has done and some of her proposals. Also showed she isn't afraid to go into obviously hostile territory to try to win some votes meanwhile coward Trump avoids interviews like he avoided Kamala's gaze in their debate. Seems like a modest win for Kamala.

And this is why it was good of her to do it. Not only did she throw out some facts the FN crowd has never heard, it was also the most adversarial interview she's had yet and she demonstrated she can handle it with ease.

She looked shaky a couple of times but overall held her own and did pretty well.
Bret was really pushing her, at times even being outright adversarial and she kept her composure and stuck to her message.
