Yeah, this is great. Outstanding presentation adds a lot to it.

The actual movie is good but I would say the audiovisual experience alone makes it worth watching

I've seen the 90's version a few times as a kid because my family loved it for whatever reason.

All I remember is Owen Wilson getting decapitated by the Lion head. What a weird fever dream of a movie.

I've never seen the original unfortunately.

Yes but I found it boring to be honest. Everyone says The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix is better but I don't think I can be bothered if it's anything like this.

I don't think so. I thought I did, but I get it mixed up with House on Haunted Hill.

I haven't seen either 1963 or 1999 movies yet, but Haunting of Hill House is one of my favourite shows of all time. It's an amazing look at family dynamics, depression, and addiction, wrapped up with a very well done spooky setting with a couple genuine scares, just based off the same source material as the movies. Episode 5 is a highlight.

He also did Bly Major (more romantic ghost story than family horror), Midnight Mass (vampire show about the philosophy of life), Midnight Club (kids with terminal diseases tell spooky stories like Are You Afraid of the Dark with some maybe legit spooky), and Fall of the House of Usher (uses a bunch of Poe stories as general storylines to tell an overarching narrative about greed, power, and family). Plus Doctor Sleep and other horror movies, and will be the show runner for the Dark Tower miniseries with King's blessing. Dude is amazing.

I have. I loved The Man Who Laughs. I saw it after I heard that movie inspired the creation of The Joker.

It was so creepy in the best of ways.

Im also a cinephile.

I watched Midnight Mass and thought it was fantastic although House of Usher didn't grip me as much.

Doctor Sleep was Flanagans best work, imo.
