Really doesn't help that republicans in the state are still pushing to ban abortion along with fighting against legalizing marijuana which has over 70% of the state's population in favor of.

Harris is doing relatively well in states like Kansas, while Trump is doing better in New York. Would be very funny if the end result of Trump courting minority voters is that Harris wins thanks to a larger than normal share of the white vote.

I believe there will be an underpinning of not going back in some red areas. People who are just exhausted of all of this and want to go back to the days when the republican nominee was boring as shit, but not causing drama every day(and likely almost as genocidal - but again boring on the surface). I see more and more encouraging things every day just about on this issue.

I feel like as we get down into the last week it's been evident a lot of people(outside of the hardcore) are losing steam on the right. As a Harris supporter, her 1 or 2 terms would not be perfect. Far from it. But I won't be having to wonder what dumb fucking thing she'll say next i'll have to cover for.

I just feel like the waning enthusiasm is actually starting to show.

All of that, plus people who aren't saying shit to anybody and voting for Harris in the booth to again, get off the ride. I think she has this, but again people please vote. We're a week away. My state has officially got my ballot, so I've done my part.

Yeah but its almost within margin of error.

A sufficient october suprise and/or a much better dem/dem leaning turnout could conceivably flip the state.

Its quite unlikely still but no longer a total pipe dream.

It was Kansas, but it was also a single ballot item during the primary. Once the GE came around the state elected an AG who campaigned on restricting and continuing to try and ban abortion. So you know, not many bright folks.

Kansas's rural population is consistently decreasing while the north east of Kansas, which is the bluest part, both keeps growing and is becoming more and more blue.

Like the congressional rep for the third district (which covers the most populated part of the state) is a lesbian native American woman. Last election cycle, they GOP tried to do some pretty heavy redistricing to undercut the blue vote and yet Davids won by even more than the last election.

Don't get me wrong, the state is still ultimately outnumbered by the non-north eastern parts of the state which are pretty bright red, including Wichita, Kansas' biggest city but the GOP has had its support in the most populated and affluent part of the state heavily eroded.
