They were openly considering it last year/early this year, and only stopped doing so publicly because it got a lot of backlash.

I like how half the Republican ads I'm getting are about how their candidate is going to be "tough on China" and they seem to want to cut one of the biggest acts that let's us not depend on Chinese manufacturing.
