for some odd reason, every time i oversleep with a nap it fucks up the sleep cycle at night :(.

happened last night. though i just ended up sleeping less that night to make up for what i slept during the day.

for me napping has to be done at 2pm and no later. there's consequences that result.

Reminds me when I have a full 8 or 9 hours sleep, I feel like shit in the morning and throughout the day.

But when I have 3-4 hours sleep, I feel like I can function better.

I'm like the opposite lol. I feel great if I sleep 9 hours, but feel like shit if I only sleep 4 hours. Even though I don't sleep much cuz of my job, I cherish the times I do get great sleep

We have a sleep drive, like hunger drive. When you sleep, your sleep drive decreases. So if you nap, especially for more than 30 minutes, it decreases your sleep drive. Then if you nap too close to when you would typically sleep, that will also make it harder for you to be able to sleep.
