To sell the show, we created the narrative that Trump was a super-successful businessman who lived like royalty. That was the conceit of the show, Miller wrote in an op-ed for U.S. News. Sincere or not, I dont think anyone could have predicted back then that Trump would turn into a threat to democracy. It was an entertaining show, and nothing more. Tbf hindsight is 20/20. It would be pretty much impossible to predict that the "you're fired" guy with the bad hair piece would become the fascist leader of America. Like go back in time to the height of the Apprentice and tell people that guy will be the president of the united states. I watched season 1 of the Apprentice and loved it. Didnt care for season 2, so I stopped watching early on. I watched a little bit of Celebrity Apprentice until the people I liked were eliminated. I liked the show for the contestants. Trump did very little in the show, in all honesty. He just appeared at the end to make a decision on who was fired.
