I think the first time I said it was at age 17. It was funny seeing their reactions. It was like them hearing something they needed and didnt expect.

31 now. We all end our calls with I love you, man. now.

I get that. What I meant by toxic masculinity was that there are some dudes out there who shame people for being comfortable in their sexuality.

I live with my best friend...we used to be partners, even. When we were together, I'd say it frequently.

Now it's rarely ever. Neither of us want to send the wrong signal or confuse things. Deep down we know how we feel for each other.

We both frequently go above and beyond for each other.

Other friends, no. Not at all. The L word is hard for me to get out. It's very powerful to me and I don't want to use it on something I don't mean.

Even family it's hard to say to. Certain words hold too much power over me
