But yes, I would absolutely believe that a major political party with a history of saying one thing and doing another (or more often, saying one thing and just doing nothing) - which yes, is indeed an accurate description of many political parties and is in no way unique to the Dems in the US - are also saying what they think their supporters (and more importantly, potential supporters) want to hear. --- Without your Trumble, you are but an empty shell. ... The Democrats have had several opportunities to codify Roe v Wade on a federal level, as well as pass the Equal Rights Act. Both are major fundraising campaigns; it doesnt feel that shocking to suggest that a major party that acts like a corporation in all other elements of its operation would act like one in this instance and protect its cash flow. --- The world's a mess and yr my only cure (formerly BrohammedAli) ... Technically it wouldn't void the ruling on Roe v. Wade, it'd just make Abortion an actual part of the law, instead of only kind of being protected by an old court ruling that always was sort of sketchy. There's nothing unconstitutional about making a law to guarantee abortion (or to put it in the constitution), just that conservatives have been blocking every attempt to actually do so since Roe/Wade happened. ...
