If you've been to any of the Cedar Fair owned parks or ever plan to go then this is the topic for you.

I will not call the parent company Six Flags because I despise the name and what they stand for.

I will never not talk shit about shit flags because they don't know how to run their own parks and I've heard a lot of their parks are awfully dirty with trash just laying around.

Figure we can discuss rumors we hear about any of the Cedar Fair parks or just want to talk about your favorite coaster or flat ride.

How's Kings Island? I'm planning on going next season, there's some must ride coasters I want to go on.

I've been wanting to go back to cedar point. It's probably been like 15 years since I've been there.

Canada's Wonderland my home park. AlpenFury 2025 for a rush + balancing lineups from the 3 B&M's.

How's Yukon Striker? I seen parts coming through my town when they was building it.

Patiently waiting to see if Zamperla will pull through with the solution to the Top Thrill 2 issues. I want to revisit Cedar Point, but I'd rather wait until TT2 and Siren's Curse are open for a while. The only two parks from the old chain I've been to are Cedar Point and Kings Island, and I am more willing to return to those parks than the nearest Six Flags parks - St. Louis (about 40 minutes away) and Great America (5 hour drive).

So far only Cedar Point, on my list of parks to visit is Kings Island and Dorney Park in Pennsylvania.
Dorney Park has Possessed, which is similar to Wicked Twister but only has one twisting tower.

Siren's Curse is a new coaster being built, it's supposed to be open in the summer of 2025. It's a tilt coaster. The CGI POV looked kinda cool.

When I started going to Cedar Point it was just the Gemini, log flume near where the Raptor is now, corkscrew, mine ride, and the wild mouse style ride near the midway. Last went before Covid and now that I live on the West Coast its going to be a bit.

Wild Mouse is surprisingly fun, i'm not a fan of being spun around but I like Wild Mouse.

The spinning is different than other rides that spin you.

The ride is short but every time I've rode it, I'm laughing the entire time

Wild mouse at cedar point? Way more tame than iron dragon....way way less....

I'm sure it has. I remember it having the most and the biggest coasters. I'm just never in Ohio during the summer months anymore.

Which park is this?

Besides kings dominion and kings island I dont care too much for the Cedar fair parks. With the merger there might be 5 elite parks in the chain.

You cant just go off heresay, they do have some crappy parks, but they have some well kept parks as well. Cedar fair has some bad parks themselves that they dont care about.

I feel the new company needs to get rid of at least 5 parks.

Can't say that I've experienced that at the St Louis one.
We bought a season pass this past year for the St Louis six flags and hurricane harbor.
The kids loved it. We would go in the middle of the week and there were no lines for most rides so we got our money worth.

Yeah they have slowed down. They don't have as much space as magic mountain

The only Cedar Fair park Ive been to is Kings Island (which I really enjoyed). Of course, I love coasters, so Cedar Point has been on my wishlist for a while

I lived 10 miles south of Sandusky for 4 years and never even made it to Cedar Point. Honestly the only reason I wanted to go was for that Melt restaurant.

I go to Worlds of Fun at least a couple times a year. It might be the most forgotten Cedar park.

Where is this, how many coasters does it have

I haven't been to Cedar Point since 2004. I've read that some roller coasters since then have replaced. The Mantis for instance.

I've only been to King's Island twice. Both were in 1999.

Same track, but the trains were replaced with floorless ones, new paint scheme, and new name. Didn't ride it in 2023 when I went because I heard less than good things about how it runs.

Its not great. The mantis used to give me calf cramps.

My wife and I go biannually to Dorney Park in Allentown PA, and it's honestly one of my favorite theme parks to visit that isn't Disney.

We go in the Summer for Wild Water Kingdom, and in October for their Fright Night, and it's always a great time. Their water park slides are fun and varied, and their Haunted Houses and Fright Zones are very high quality and well made, since they're permanent buildings, not pop up tents or converted warehouses like what Six Flags does.

Ride wise, I feel like they have a good variation of coasters for everyone. Steel Force, Thunder Hawk, and Demon Drop are solid entry-level coasters for people who don't like major thrill rides, while Hydra and their new Iron Menace work as great stepping up stones for more inverted rides, and of course, Talon and Possessed are there if you want your ass kicked.

The park also has a lot of the older style carnival rides you don't see too often, such as an old school spinny swing ride, a very quaint and traditional styled Ferris Wheel, an egg scrambler and Wild Mouse, and a pair of great Water Flume rides.

So yeah, if it isn't obvious I absolutely love Dorney Park.

I grew up near the Lehigh Valley and went to Dorney Park often, either with family or high school friends. Even worked there one summer during college. Don't think I've been there in nearly 30 years. Looking at a list of their coasters, Thunderhawk is the only one I rode that's still there, and now that it's hit 100 years of operation, I doubt it will ever be retired. Also rode the Laser and Hercules. I remember the Flying Dutchman coaster they had, but don't think I ever went on it.

My parents took me to the Wild Safari in New Jersey when I was little. I don't remember it, but my parents have a lot of pictures. We always called in Great Adventure, but it looks like Great Adventure and Wild Safari are separate parks right next to each other, like Dorney and Wildwater Kingdom. Don't know if we went to the actual Great Adventure.

Honestly yeah.

Great Adventure isn't really that "great" of a park. It's bigger problem is it's age - the park is old, and it's upkeep has been atrocious these past few years.

We went to Great Adventures last year for their Halloween event, and so many of the rides just feel like they're falling apart. Their Dark Knight ride has almost all the animatronics removed, and the pre-show is gone. The Green Lantern got stuck while I was there on the incline for almost an hour, the Justice League coaster barely functions now, and so many of their rides just feel like any other coaster without any real Identity to them.

That's not even getting into their lines and wait times. I can go to Dorney on a Saturday or Sunday and comfortably go on every big name ride without waiting too long, with time to kill, whereas it's usually an hour wait for any of GA's big name rides, and close to half an hour even for their smaller ones on a similar weekend. Great Adventures is also expensive as hell - I can get two tickets for Dorney for the price of one for Six Flags, and I feel like I'm getting less for my money with Great Adventures than I am Dorney.

Great Adventures is also mostly just a thrill park - if you're looking for a variety of coasters or rides, you're not going to really find it at Great Adventures. That's not to say it doesn't have some cool rides - the Houdini House is pretty cool, the Runaway Mine Cart has a neat theming and layout, and I will give GA their Safari Adventure, but the rest is just average at best.

Cedar Point is planning to do a heavy reno of the park in the coming years I've heard, so maybe my opinion on the park will change. But right now, Dorney for me is just the better option.
