The pattern of sucking up to Trump is that he vampirically absorbs all the value of whoever lets themselves get taken in by him and then throws them away when they're empty. So there's a non-zero chance that Elon ends up much worse off by the end of the next four years.

I have a twitter account that I made in like 2011 and I haven't logged into in about a decade. I wonder what would hurt twitter more. 1 more user with no engagement at all, or one permanently lost member.
