Sorry for posting irrelevant shit in this topic but this topic definitely reminded me when I was in high school when a gay student came out and everyone (including me) was giving him a hard time. Not because he was gay (at least for me anyways, I'm sure there were some people who attacked him solely because he was gay) but because prior to his announcement he wasn't well liked at all. He was just a huge asshole and had this huge entitlement around him acting like his shit don't stink. (Just to give some sort of context, I remember one time in the cafeteria I was playing with my GameBoy advance and he asked what I was playing and if he can try it. I lend him the game and after two minutes he just yelled boring and dropped my game into the ground)

Just because you're gay doesn't mean that you aren't a despicable human. I know after the announcement he got depressed and thought people hated him because he was gay, until people started pointing out that people didn't like you beforehand and that we had a gay teacher that most people were cool with because the teacher was actually a decent human being.

Feels like this topic is a carbon copy of that time period of my life lol

Some states have transgender resource centers that help out with quite a bit, including aid to find affirming care, support and social groups, referrals to mental healthcare providers, so on.

PFLAG is a national organization with local chapters that exists to help friends/family of LGBTQIA+ individuals with education. Little bit like how Alcoholics Anonymous is for the alcoholic while Al-Anon is for the loved ones of an alcoholic. Don't like the comparison but it's all I've got.

Then there are smaller scale nonprofits that work with specific geographical areas, but the run there is exactly that: an organization in Utah ain't gonna be much help if you're in Louisiana.

If you're comfortable PMing me your basic location (I don't need specifics, something like "Northeast Illinois" is fine) I can look around and see if I can find anything. I'm a social worker with an LGBTQIA+ nonprofit, this is literally what I do.

MAGA types are currently attempting to legislate LGBTQ+ folks out of existence. Human rights are not simply a political disagreement, and downplaying it as such says all we need to know about you.

I actually lost both of them. A week after I came out I went to my Urologist for a standing appointment and I asked him about it because of my wanting to transition and he examined "down there" and told me the other Testicle had atrophied quite a lot over the years and it is no longer viable for Sperm and Testosterone production.

Testosterone is hella powerful. So is estrogen, but testosterone is always going to win out. A major part of HRT is getting that T suppressed while raising your E; if your current levels are already low itll definitely help your transition; youre still looking at years because its puberty and it takes time, but it certainly isnt going to hurt.

From what happened and atleast my view of it:

  • Coffee came out as trans.
  • I was cool and supported them.
  • Coffee then eventually came out saying they were no longer trans.
  • I told them that I hoped them the best and that they were doing this because they wanted to not-transition.
Eventually, a lot of people jumped on me claiming I was being hateful of them because they figured out they were not trans (Like oh, just let them have this moment, they figured themself out!), to the point my post was docked and I was warned because of it when I was actually being genuine and hoping they weren't being forced to back out.

The board's backlash on me with this caused me to quit coming here for a year. I was pretty pissed that it was being taken as it was. No one was listening to me and I was genuinely concerned it was a family or some sort of forced undoing of one's self.

Now, I just congratulate people coming out and not get involved anymore. It's everyone's own fight and I care no more.
