tied up 1.5-1.5 after 3 games played so far. tomorrow is an off day.

Ding won with black game 1
draw game 2
D Gukesh won with white game 3

anybody curious, Magnus Carlsen decided not to even try to qualify this year after dropping the championship before the last championship

I am. I was happy to see Ding take game one. I think it would have been crushing if he lost right away.

I actually got up and watched some of the game this morning too. The time difference makes it tough to watch live but I just watch Jerry from the chess network doing recaps everyday.

I think Gukesh wins as Ding slowly falls apart but kind of want Ding to win. I feel for him and like that he is kind of seen as the underdog.

Yeah, that was a bit odd. I was expecting Gukesh to stick with 1 e4, since he did fine in the opening of game 1.
