A few things i always say...

• History rarely gives a damn how you did something, just that you did it. Did you pay attention to the details in your history class? Point is in life find your own path forward, and get the job done.
• Life gets 5x easier when you stop giving a shit what people think.
• Don't get into a relationship unless you are cool with dying alone - It makes you vulnerable to being used/abused.
• Living with poor vision, M.S., and autism has taught me...you will always be disabled if you can't accept your disability. The second you accept it is when you can work around it.
• Don't underestimate people with disabilities. People are...so much more than a piece of paper. I never needed pity, but only a chance to prove myself.
• Remember how competent, and in control your hobbies made you feel? That's confidence!
• Debt freedom > Wealth
• There is nothing wrong with asking family, or friends for help sometimes, but when you do you lose the right to bitch about how they helped you later. Want it done right? Do it yourself.
• On that note DO NOT make a habit of calling family/friends out of the blue for the sole purpose of asking for money. That's a quick way to make people not answer you when you call.
• Looks may fade, and health may wain, yet Loyalty always remain. It's what i built my long distance relationship on as without it, we had nothing. To me, that's the most important thing in a relationship.

Do not neglect mental health. Even if you think you are doing ok, you may find that you've been living for years with worsening symptoms you didn't think were serious that become a significant negative in your life later.

Travel while you can. Experience other cultures

Take care of your health, body and strength. As you age you get weaker. Eat healthy and do resistance training.

Enjoy nature. Get off the phone/computer for a bit. Get some sun

Don't sweat the small stuff and choose your battles. Especially online. Arguing or having a spat online is very juvenile. If you can have a good debate, thats fine. But if things get heated walk away.

Learn to say "yes" to experiences, invites and such instead of "no". You will regret what you didn't do so much more

Surround yourself with positive people and people looking to succeed. Its very contagious. If youre only around negative, unmotivated, everything is awful type of people then you'll be exactly the same as them.

That's not true with my experiences. Though, I am aware that my experiences are not typical.

Keep saying "yes". No, not every "yes" works, but a lifetime of saying "yes" will be better than a lifetime of saying "no" for the vast majority of people

And pay attention to your health, don't try and tough something out. You'll regret it later.

I'll keep that in mind if anyone ever decides to invite me to anything(not likely).

I started having a lot more success in life when I let go of the notion my parents tried to drill in me that it's not okay to fail at anything I do. What it led to was me not wanting to do anything that was too far out of my comfort zone for fear that I might fail at it. I'm so much more willing to take on new challenges in life when I go into them with the expectation that I'm going to try my best, I'm not always going to succeed, and that's okay.

Don't take advice from CE

Don't lend anything that you wouldn't be okay with never seeing again.

Learn to process your emotions instead of suppressing them; we aren't robots.

Take care of things that are in your control and accept things that are out of your control.

Moisturizing lotion + petroleum jelly is much more effective than any ordinary lip balm.

Not sure; I thought Vaseline Lip Therapy would be it but when I tried it I wasn't impressed.

Seen what the disease can do to you, so I'm grateful to still have full movement since being diagnosed in 07.

Never lie to yourself.

Never lose sight of the fact that people should be trying to please you too. For example:

In romantic relationships, if your partner is expect you to pull out all the stops but isnt pulling their weight, dont be afraid to confront them about it and dont be afraid to walk away from the relationship if its one sided. I learned this one the hard way.

In a job interview, its not just about you trying to sell yourself to the employer, its also about the employer trying to sell the job to you. Ive had several occasions where Ive been offered the job and turned it down because I was out off by things that were said or done as part of the selection process.

When it comes to family, dont be their whipping boy out of some misplaced sense of loyalty. You dont owe people shit just because you happen to share some DNA with them.

It essentially all one piece of advice, but Ive found that it can be applied all over the place.

Rule 1: avoid asking for advice on the internet when you dont know exactly who you're talking to

Heres one that a lot of people seem to get kind of angry about, but Ive found that its been an absolute life saver for me.

Learn how to be happy being by yourself.

Now, Im not saying cut off all contact with people and dont try to forge relationships, but what Ive learned over the years is that people can be incredibly unreliable. I used to get really down like if I would make plans with friends and then theyd bail. Now Ive learned how to entertain myself so even if I cant count on someone to follow through, at least I can still have fun myself.

And thats been beyond helpful with romantic relationships. When I look back on how much time I spent getting upset over women, Im so embarrassed with myself lol. Doing that thing where Id be depressed and then perking up because a girl talked to me oh lord

Thats solid advice. Relationships have value, but theres more to a person than their relationships with other people.

A lot of confusion in life comes from miscommunications. Be patient and understand that not everyone grew up in the same culture, lifestyle, speaking the same language, or even continent as you did. Even basic things like saying we need to talk can have different context depending on where you came from.

No matter how sad, completely devoid of hope and how pointless you may end up feeling about yourself and everything don't ever think you don't deserve to exist. even if you don't value yourself, even if no one values you, your existence is not making this world a worse or better place.
